Dracthyr feminine features

Have you ever seen a real live lizzard?

I liked dragons better when they weren’t chickens with skittle powers.

That is what the media wants us to believe, anyway. How true is that though? I have my doubts…

This cannot be reposted enough, apparently.

Unless its like. A gorgon or a monster similar to a gorgon. But that is a whole other thing and I’m too tired

LMFAO, this is NOT Skyrim or ESO…

The Lusty Argonian came to mind when you said that xD

I forgot about the horn ornaments, that adds a feminine touch.

Female Tortollans don’t have a chest either.

Yeah, it’s a reptile thing.

More like modeld after Jar Jar Binks.

I c wut u did thar

And yeah it’s really… weird so I opted for the crotch flap on both my Evokers.

The forums would literally explode if they made Dragon form Alexstrasza match her HotS visage model.

Wasn’t her cata model like that?

Everybody’s so quick to bust out their 5th grade biology textbook when people ask for obviously female-looking lizard people, but Azeroth isn’t Earth. If Blizz wanted their lizard people to have a bust they could. Heck, four-legged dragonkin have had breasts, or at least a bust area, for the entire history of the game, and still do.

Do I want a dracthyr with boobs? Not particularly. But I do want one that reads as female as clearly as the current ones read as male. That could be done with their silhouette, and as for the chest, the bust area could just protrude a bit more. A slight sports bra uni-boob that could just be muscles, just like four-legged female dragonkin have. It’s not much but they at least clearly read as female.

Basically, making all their lizard people just look like guys isn’t the progressive move they seem to think it is, but it does save them dev time I guess.

Anyway, get back to me when they make a race that’s entirely female-coded but the guys have have male voices, and that’s all that tells them apart. I’ll wait. And if that’s not cool then tell me why the reverse is.

Idk who the heck was trying to convince you that sexual dimorphism doesn’t exist in reptiles but that person could not be any more wrong…

So from my perspective having made 3 Dracthyr so far (1 for each spec, Male Aug, Female Dev and Pres) there are several feature options off the top of my head that I viewed as being more masculine or feminine looking (including 1 that I believe is straight up canonically shown to only be used by female Dracthyr NPCs)

Eye spikes, to me the thin spiky eyebrows remind me of long eyelashes and so I consider them to usually be a more feminine trait with the plate/ridge looking eyebrows being the more masculine counterpart

Actual head style: While this doesn’t seem to matter at all for the NPCs I definitely tend to consider the more “cute”, softer, less jagged head options to be more feminine while the longer and sharper faces tend to be more masculine (My pres evoker contradicts this tbh because I used the long snout that comes with a nose horn as I based her design on Espinas from Monster Hunter lol)

And the one that as far as I’m aware is supported by NPCs: The scaly neck. It kinda gives the effect of long hair and I believe it is not seen on any male dracthyr NPCs despite it being an available option for them.

But obvs go nuts, do whatever you see fit. My Aug has spiky eyebrows, but it doesn’t come off feminine because he’s got the beeg chunko body and is Infinite Dragonflight styled with sharp aggressive horns and snout, my pres has a long jagget snout and lots of horns but the body type makes a big difference in how it presents imo, whereas my Devastation is the most stereotypically “feminine” styled dracthyr appearance I made with the horn jewelry, reddish pink color, blunter snout, etc.

your link doesn’t work Carn

It’s the EQ1 Iksar, they are based on real lizards so the only difference is color. I don’t think I have a good enough forum level or whatever to actually post 'em, but it’s very hard to tell the difference.

We can tell masculine/feminine because males are bigger and stronger!

Of course they are.

IIRC, based on memory, I think the females were slimmer. Smaller waist, shoulders not as broad, slimmer head and tail.

eta - yep! Just looked at your pic in a higher up comment and I actually remembered something correctly.
