Finally giving some High and Half Elf assets the ability to be Druids.
Fitting for humanoid & ‘pixie’ Druidic looks, fantasies and characterization on BOTH factions.
Green Dragonflight lore connection to the Emerald Dream.
The only real hurdle, potentially, is making forms. Honestly, though, reskinning Night Elf models and adding scales and horns would do a good job. Zandalari forms are arguably, basically half-way the work towards that if a more explicitly Draconic options are chosen. Regardless, most of the forms are shared between races now regardless.
I feel like 11.0.5 was a missed opportunity, but I’m confident more options can be added later (and, will probably all be added at some point anyway)
Aquatic form: Beavers from the Azure Span
Bear form: Ice Bear or Primal Bear from Azure Span
Cat form: Rockfangs from the Ohnaran Plains
Flight form: Ducks
Travel form: Vorquin
Oh these are great ideas (how had I not thought of it… of course! Creatures from the Dragon Isles )! Much more creative than just re-creating existing forms! I’d love Ottuk travel form options as well.
Yes please! I was so looking forward to rolling a Dracthyr Druid, and we’ve been let down.
We all know that creating four new Druid forms is not a massive undertaking. Nonetheless, I’d still be elated even if they were just simply recolors. Or even just copies of the current ones!
On a more broad note, Blizz should just lift the class/race restrictions. If NElves can be Warlocks, and Tauren Rogues, I see no issues.
It’s not like the races have to put in full resources (lore-wise) into supporting new classes. It’s just the individual player choosing to take on a class, the same way some NElves turned to Shamanism in Dragonflight.
Worst case scenario, lift all class/race restrictions and fix some bugs in place of a patch.
Patches full of new things (and bugs) are great, fun, exciting, etc… But there’s already so much to catch up on anyways in terms of collection, so I think we’d all be fine farming a mount we’ve been eyeing, working on professions, collecting toys, or anything else for a patch.
I wholeheartedly agree! I’ve thought for many years that increasing the variety of race/class combinations is just a naturally fitting change in an MMORPG.
