Since the Dracthyr dragon forms don’t show armor why do they have to be limited to evoker? Surely being a basic warrior or a sneaky rogue or spiritually inclined priest couldn’t hurt the lore of them, considering these are all things that seem to form in every society.
A couple days ago I made a post asking why Evoker couldn’t have a tank spec, but I understand where that doesn’t really fit with the other two. Though druid makes it work, it is a lot of extra effort and balancing for the class.
What I don’t quite get is the reason to limit them to one class, as they wouldn’t even need to spend extra effort getting armor to fit them considering the armor disappears.
I have to admit this hope of them getting more classes earlier rather than later comes from me really liking the Dracthyr but not the evoker. I feel like there are plenty of classes that can easily fit into the lore if they wanted.
Of course, starting out I doubt they can do it at this point considering it’s supposed to be coming out in like five months. I would just like to see them opened up sometime in this expansion as I think it opens up a lot of verity to the race.

Because Neltharion made them to only be Evokers.
After they integrate with the mortal factions they could in theory become the other classes. As per Ion
It looks pretty bad that they release yet another class with only 2 specs, but that class can only be 1 race, and that race can’t play as anything else. I don’t care about their lore reasons… they should scrap that lore and stop being so narrow-minded and stubborn about their questionable design decisions. I can’t imagine what kind of mental gymnastics they went through to be okay with the advertised state of the race/class.
I’d totally play a Dracthyr Warrior. They could easily make it work with some more customization options, allowing players to look more like a Drakonid when playing a melee class. Rogue, Mage, and Priest should be easy enough to achieve as well. It really doesn’t matter considering armor doesn’t even show up in dragon form.
While we’re at it, the visage forms (which are all hideous atm) should be able to choose between any of the playable races or the current monstrosity. More options, not more limitations… please.
This just screams of them being lazy and using any excuse to justify their decisions. They can do better.

Have you ever seen a dragon willingly tank who wasnt under someone elses influence and live to tell about it?
I didnt think so
want to hear secret? They wasted resources on something else so they couldn’t make it on time. That’s why they said that they will implement it later on
Actual answer:
If Dracthyr have their own animation rig, and I assume they do, Blizzard would have to create new combat animations for every ability of every class that gets added to them.

Because it has literally nothing to do with armor? It’s a lore reason.
No it doesn’t. It’s actually smarter that they recognise that not every new idea needs three sub concepts to be forced out of them. The world (reality and WoW) isn’t that rigid.

You know what
A Dracthyr death knight is the coolest most amazing thing ever.
I will become like Viserion.
It looks like it uses a very heavily modified version of the female worgen rig. The proportions fit and some of the emotes are similar, but not the same. Regardless of the similarities, the animations are completely new.
This part I disagree with. There are already a bunch of melee animations, whirlwind, slam, charge, rampage, shield bash, heroic leap, 1h weapon attack/parry, unarmed, dual wielding, dagger stabs, rupture, feint, rifle animations, and the new melee animations added with Legion. A bunch more that I may have missed, but I didn’t see any 2h weapon animations; those are likely in the works right now.
So no, not as much work as blizzard would have us believe, at least not from the current state of available animations.
