Dracthyr Customization Update

So I personally like the way the Dracthyr were as presented, but for those that do not, Blizzard just recently discussed it and WoWhead has an article up describing that you will be able to customize your Dracthyr more than we initially thought, including making it bulkier for those that want that–though, they said “slightly” so we’ll have to see what exactly that entails.

My hope is that it will make folks that prefer them the way they were shown, and those that want them to be a little bulkier both happy.

Now add the ability for them to tank and as far as I am concerned, we’re golden.

Still want the abilitiy to use the Visage in combat where possible, temporary transformations when doing breath attacks and flying around, like DH can do. It is within them to do this, and they very much should.

At the VERY least i want it so i can automatically shift out when combat ends and not have to mindfully press a button that likely has a GCD every time.

I guess this confirms that most gear won’t be in the dracthyr form, which is a shame. I would like to see these other body shapes, that sounds promising

you wont see them until beta TBH… cause this other body shape claim is def PR BS.

They fully planned to just give us these twig drakes.

You’re probably right, hopefully they take a look at some of the great fan edits and go from there then

Good to know! I like the current models, but it’s good to have options for varied opinions.

Most interesting part is them confirming that the armor styles will be like barber shop customization like I was thinking. It makes sense as they’re the only race can be the Evoker (and vice versa,) and hoping that we see various methods of getting really cool looks.

Lesgo! One of my main concerns answered!

Please for the love of the Light just let us be the Visage of the race of our choosing. Blood Elf as an option doesn’t even make sense to the damn timeline of when these guys were ‘created’.

Definitely a nice update to be sure, as I find the Dracthyr as is to be disproportional. Having an option to change the build as opposed to outright changing it is good, as more options is generally better. We will have to wait to see what it looks like, but it is a step in the right direction. A part of me hopes however that Dracthyr Evokers can fight while in their humanoid visage form, and more races to pick for the visage’s appearance.

I don’t think that matters in lore because it’s not their physical form but what they choose to look like. And I don’t think they though we’ll look like high elves, they just have similar features. Everyone likes to look pretty, I guess. The same logic would apply if they added more races to the look. Because if they were trying to look like races from 10k years ago, it’d be just Nelves and Trolls.

He said no housing as well, we all know he means a bit thicker it is barely noticeable but meh it’s all good. keep voting with your wallet, it has started to work for this new expansion even got them to pretend they’re listening that is a start. little more denied cash and they’ll cave like MT in SL.

I just wish the females didn’t have human female body shape. Give me Night or Blood Elf or something new please.

Well they were supposedly manufactured 10k years ago. Granted we don’t know jack atm, but BE is a weird choice vs Tauren/Troll/Night Elf.

I’d support them adding more race looks to the visage, but I think they went with human/elf because it’s easier to incorporate into the scaley visage look. And because of how many dragons presented themselves. The aspects are old too and very few of them aren’t elves or humans.

Worgen all over …

Right? With Worgen I would tell people to “just play a human” but with Drakthyr I can kind of understand it since Blizzard locked evoker behind them.

Not everyone is going to be into an anthropomorphic lizard–I am, but I can see why folks wouldn’t be.
