Dracthyr "Astral Form"

I’ve been thinking about trying devastation evoker but, just like with boomkins and their moonkin form, I just can’t stand the lizard form.

In the case of boomkins the glyph of Astral Form was added, could there be a similar glyph to avoid the lizard form pls?

Use the visage form option? Outside of that evoker’s abilities are all tied to you know: being dragons

The same goes for moonkin though? Honest question, can you remain in visage form while in combat?

It’s not the same for moonkin. Moonkin is an alternate form, a shapeshift. The player always retains their base racial appearance.

You can be in visage form at ALL TIMES when not in combat, but you ARE a dragon. A druid can alter moonkin, but they cannot change Night Elf/Troll/Etc.

You can be in visage any time you’re not fighting AS A DRAGON, but you can’t change the fact that you are, in fact, a dragonkin.

Technically yes but only if you avoid using 90% of your abilities. You don’t get automatically switched into lizard form by entering combat but most of your abilities will switch you when you use them.

It’s an awkward lizard and I don’t really see a reason not to clone the boomkin glyph, you know, “magic”.

That’s unfort guess I’ll just try MM hunter then, thx for the info.

Agreed. I can’t hang out with it. But…there are a LOT of players who’ve wanted to play as dragons since way back in Vanilla. /shrug

The NPC dragons can choose their visages (not limited to human), and I’d be onboard with dragons being able to stay in visage during combat. I’d also be down for gnome druids.

My only point was that comparing a glyph for a shapeshift form to one for a race…it’s like apples and pears.

Some Evoker abilities are dragon breath type stuff, which would require dragon form to make sense. I do however think it could be made to work so that they transformed for those abilities and then back to visage form immediatly after the cast is finished, it’s just a question of if Blizzard is willing to do that or not.

This is like a player picking a Worgen and asking if they have to say in Worgen form while in combat.

Not a good example, evokers are tied to the lizards, worgens aren’t tied to any class.

It’s alright I’ll just do MM hunter and will most certainly not pick worgen lol.

The fact that the class is tied is the point and also the same for both races.
The Dragons are Dragons. Evoker is the only class they can be. They use skills and look like Dragons.
The Worgen are Worgen. Their human form cannot cast anything at all. It’s a façade much like the Visage. However, it doesn’t matter what class a Worgen is as they have to be a Worgen to use skills.

But Evokers are tied to a appearance just as Worgens are tied to theirs. The apect of both is they are not just a human, but a unique race.

then don’t play lizard wizards, dude…

Honestly, please. And my forum avatar too. I like how fierce this one looks but it’s not the character I wanted to represent myself with.

Why would they make fantasy restricted? Visage is magic I can use, let me use it. If I wanted to look like a naked weirdo all the time when it matters(in combat), I would have a mog like fauxstrazsa. The game has enough naked dracthyr giving ME a bad name.

Like why is a transmorpher beacon more powerful than my visage magic? A toy can enable me to use draconic fire in some weird troll boss’s appearance, why can’t my own magic do the same?!!?!?!? LET ME BE MYSELF HOLY CRAP.

I have to disagree. I’m a firm believer that the visage form should have never been an option to begin with and I’d be really disappointed to see an option to turn them into just another run of the mill caster in appearance. They are unique in their form and it’s sad people want to turn them into something else.

It’s sad people want to be themselves wow! If you like dragons, more power to you, you can be a scalie freak like the rest of them. Let me be myself. Gameplay is the real fantasy.

Resorting to name calling. Is that the best you can do? :person_facepalming:

Look at the mogs of these dracthyr players. This game is becoming an advert for a specific toy manufacturer. Act freaky, don’t complain when people label you a freak.

But they aren’t dragons though. They’re a new race.

Pedantry aside, they’re still dragonkin and their abilities are linked to that side of them.
