So Dracthyr display shoulder and belts while in their dragon form. My problem here is that this clashes with the clothing/armor I chose during character customization. So naturally I head over to the transmog NPC to hide those slots. Great! Now I look exactly like I did at character customization and have a full matching outfit.
Except that now in human form, where my regular gear is displayed and not my dragonform outfit, I now am not displaying shoulders or a belt and look like a doofus…
Dragon form and human form have different clothing by design and as such should transmoggable separately. What shoulders and belts I’ll want to use in dragon form is heavily limited by the clothing options in customization. On top of that I need to coordinate my human outfit with my dragon clothing or the shoulders/belt will match one but not the other; further limiting my visage transmog based on my dragon clothing. This current setup just feels bad.
I wish theyd scrap this idea. Drakthyr should be able to wear armor, excluding perhaps capes because of their wings. With all the beast races in this game theres no excuse but laziness.
Im sure it does take effort but they are game designers and artists. Thats their job. Not allowing Drakthyr to transmog takes a huge part of the game away from them and does come off as lazy to me.
It’s definitely laziness on Blizz’s part. If they didn’t have time to properly create the race to use transmog like every other race can then they shouldn’t have implemented it. It’s clear they cut corners in that department for whatever reason, be it time restraints or whatever.
Transmog is a big part of this game and people should rightfully be disappointed that it’s basically non existent for the new race. Luckily they said tier sets will be transmogable but that’s still not enough in my opinion.
OP isn’t asking for something weirdly specific to their tastes, they’re asking for the new race to have the same transmog options as literally every other race. It’s a more than reasonable request.
This isnt like every other race, their poportions are very unique and they even have size options.
Going with such an alien design they had to make sacrifices.
What you don’t consider with your eager assertions is that no other games have the balls to do this.
They go with the same boring humanoid shape everytime because they don’t want to alter gear or make unique gear options for race that only one will be able to wear.
I love and appreciate that they are actually going the extra mile to do this as it really makes them stand out from other MMOs.
People are so focused on what they seemingly lost they don’t consider how original, different and unique with what they gained.
What? There are plenty of races that have unique proportions.
You’re just white knighting for Blizz honestly. Again if they wanted to undertake creating a race like this then they should’ve implemented it properly and gave it the same transmog options as every single other race has.
Just because it’s “unique” doesn’t mean they get to leave stuff out. I’m not going to agree with the idea that because we have 4 slightly different torso options that we should be happy with forfeiting the entire transmog system lol.
I think they should allow Dracthyr to transmog their forms separately and perhaps also extend this to Worgen as well. I also really hope that they didn’t truly scrap some of the planned Dracthyr armor options that they literally showed off just before the start of Alpha testing.
Why do they keep showing off customization options that aren’t guaranteed to be in the final product? The armor options on the middle Dracthyr are interesting as are the ones on the green Dracthyr, but most of them have not been added on the Alpha builds, possibly indicating that the options have been scrapped.
It’s making me wonder if they screwed up and accidentally included options intended only for NPCs.
Makes me wish we had Heritage Armor that looks that… Make Imaginate having Void Elves with different armor sets and such like that for the Worgen, Goblins, and etc.
That’s good to hear. Strange that sites like Wowhead and MMO Champion haven’t bothered to actually show the updates to Dracthyr customization with pictures and such.
Truthfully it actually makes the race more unique. There isn’t any race that can do that. I like that idea. But I do want to keep the forms separate when using the transmog system.
Probably an unpopular opinion but i like that they have armor sets made for them instead of having to deal with armor designed on the human male model, stretched over their skin. Less clipping and it looks snazzy.
