Dracthyr and mobility

Does anybody else feel like Dracthyr are too insanely mobile? It’s not as much of an issue in Arena where Blizzard does most of their balancing but in open world it can be downright infuriating to chase after a Dracthyr player and they have enough CDs to basically just run back to a settlement to hide behind the town guards. What have been your experiences, do you guys have any tips on countering this?

Press a root.

I usually don’t go after evokers 1v1 as a rogue anymore. Even with crippling/shadow step it’s hard to pin them down, and once I’m out of gap closers (and almost permanently slowed) I’m screwed. Definitely a hard fight.

doesnt even matter, they are zooming right after.

Their CC immunity called.

It only applies to full loss of control effects. Not roots.

Likewise for Unburdened Flight: only immunes snares, not roots.

Roots aren’t just inconvenient; they shut down their ability to press two important abilities in Verdant Embrace and Rescue.

Well, unfortunately Rogues can’t root. The solution to class balance isn’t to reroll what’s strong or hasn’t been nerfed yet.

Well, not like rogues need a root. :person_shrugging:

That’d be ridiculous lol

I mean sure, but it’s not like Dracthyr should be able to span 3/4s of Hallowfall while in combat either. They just need to be retooled is all, and this definitely needs to happen before they get even more class options.

The trade off is most of their spells have a short range. Isn’t it like, 30 yards or something? In return they have high mobility. It’s a trade off. They have to get closer to melee specs than most ranged and therefore they have high mobility.

That’s their gimmick, it’s a unique design that other classes don’t follow.

I wouldn’t mind it if they were using it to kite me but they’re just using it to run away lol.

You’re a rogue, why are you complaining about other people running away when you have multiple resets? A night elf rogue on top of that… Shadow Meld for another reset.

Because it makes War Mode not fun to play when people just constantly run away to hide behind guards.

Again, you’re a rogue. War Mode isn’t so fun either when you’re fighting a rogue only for them to have multiple resets and run away, but we deal with it.

I don’t run away, is the thing. If I’m in War Mode I’m not there for the 10% bonus I’m there looking to pick a fight.

I guarantee that whenever the going gets tough, and you’re about to die, you cloak + vanish. Don’t act like you don’t. Every rogue does this.

I use vanish to pop back into stealth to use stealth abilities, not to run away. I’m only spec’d to have one charge of Vanish.

Doubt.

Nissie wouldn’t stay to engage me.
Guaranteed.

I mean, we’re on the same faction. So yeah, you’re right.
