They should just enable it for any usable weapon types.
I would love to see a Dracthyr with the Silver Hand (for that Tyr representation), or the Doomhammer offhands to encapsulate that elemental power, or whatever other options people out there would toss on.
I am planning to main an Evoker, but it just feels bad to abandon all those transmog options, especially after going through pains to unlock them.
But just imagine these with a Dracthyr:
And if we add Polearms to the usable ones:
There is so much potential here that I don’t want to leave behind.
It was during I believe Hazels interview? It was an interview shortly after the announcement anyway, but he said they aren’t going to retcon them into legion. I agree with this decision tbh. They don’t have tier sets for old expansions for new classes so I don’t see why they would do this tbh
If they actually used weapons id be more inclined to agree but in dracthyr form you dont see or use a weapon anyway. They are just stat sticks so its not a big issue in my eyes about weapon tmogs for them
No. They didnt do that with other classes. They didnt restart the Scarab Gates when Death Knights came out… the only reason why a bunch of DKs got the Scarab Lord was because they singlehandedly transferred over and then soloed 100% of the content that it originally took an entire server to do and they were able to do that on gates that had not yet been opened.
So that was the only example of getting content you were not supposed to have on a certain class. Now Blizzard has all gates opened on every new server ever made in retail and also a lot of the other xpac specific content has been removed to the point to where you can only get it if you have already begun the quests to get it after it has been removed.
And this is according to the lore, cannon lore. The Dracs knew about the artifacts in their time of exitance, they still did not want to get involved. They are coming over to Azeroth now because according to cannon lore, the dragons are the toughest race of them all. So if they are needed now then things are bad and Legion artifact is going to help that. Their power was already drained on an enemy that was defeated long before they even considered stepping foot on Azeroth mainlands.
So no. They can build a garrison, can get the dal hearthstone, but the reason for needing an artifact is long gone now. They are now paper weights that take up a lot of room and cannot be deleted. All they are good for now is leveling up as a hobby, nothing else. They are beneath what the Dracs need. It would be an insult to tell them that they would need such an outdated relic.
I don’t expect them to retroactively add content for new races/classes unless it directly tied into the character having a specific disadvantage in current content during the prepatch period.
It wont last. As the race/class with the worst transmog options in the game…they are fated to be shelved to dusty alt status as it dawns on people that the real endgame for the vast majority of players cant be participated in.
.
You may not be able to see it now, but the release of patch after patch, raid tier after raid tier and every new expansion yet to come where all new weapon and armor models have zero meaning to you, because you cant ever wear them…will bring you to a point where you cant justify playing the class/race any longer.
.
Its new, so it will be flooded with people playing it at first, but it wont last. Its an incredibly obvious design flaw. Dracthyr are Mechangnomes 2.0, because people do not seem to learn from the past and just keep repeating the same design mistakes.
I was just answering your question. But it does apply to what you’re asking for, because these artifacts are class specific and you’re asking for them to somehow be given to a class that didn’t exist and then open up the flood gates for all artifacts to be used by all classes.
Honestly curious what their plan for Evokers and Legion is like the class order hall is a necessary part to the campaign in that expansion so either they figure out a workaround or Dracthyr will never be able to go through Legion like ever
Which I would also be all for. If class halls be artifacts and class identity remained relevant post-Legion, I would be reluctant to allow a Death Knight to wield the Ashbringer, but now? Why not? It would be in keeping with their current philosophy.
