Draconic Recipe in a Bottle

Rant time.
I’ve been trying to obtain one specific and apparently rare recipe that drops from Draconic Recipe in a Bottle, because AFAIK, no one else on my server has it yet and it would be cool to be able to fulfill those orders.

I’ve farmed dozens of bottles over the past week or two, and between getting Bottles from the source, and exchanging coins for them with the Great Thog, I’ve gotten -tons- of everything else under the sun. I think I’m cornering the market on Draconic Recipes that no one wants to buy-- cooking recipes, engineering schematics, and of course Dragonriding customizations. I swear I’ve gotten 5 Cauldron of the Pooka alone!

But not what I want. And I’m sick of this endless gamble. I know RNG is RNG but sometimes, this game takes it too far.

Dragonflight cooking is absolutely vile. They need to increase the drop rate of the bottles massively. I got the expensice Loamm quest for Barter Bricks where I need to get feasts, and the recipes all require something that’s made with a recipe that comes from these infernal bottles.

Also, it’s not just cooking that requires these bottles. Seriously what is wrong with Blizzard?

I legit wish I could just give people some of the excessive amount of duplicates I got while farming up the one thing I needed. (Well, people on different servers, or whatever…)

As it is, I’m selling them at painfully low prices, just to move the product. Sorry, pal who thinks Recipe X is worth 50k… bwahaha.

Oh, and those Loamm delivery quests feel like they were designed to enrich certain professions and diss others.

The feasts? Yusa’s stew is from an npc in the plains whom you /hungry to and receive the recipe. Grand banquet of the ka lu ak is from the community feast weekly. No bottles needed here.

I meant that many of the cooking items required to make the Grans Banquets are made with recipes from the Draconic Recipe in a Bottle, or simply from recipes that must be discovered from CRAFTING food learned from those bottles. For example, Cerulean Sea needs to be discovered from cooking one of those recipes that needs a bottle to learn.

WHO!? has time to fish? Seriously, there is so much content especially if you have alts? like 5? The cost of recipes in the AH… I get it… but … this random profession stuff …the time sink is just way to overwhelming ‘for fun’ …
Ah, maybe I didn’t realize Blizz doesn’t mean the game to be fun or rewarding. But, it is supposed to make you/me suffer! horribly to abject yourself to feeling like slime, and snails, or looking for bat ‘guana’… yep… that’s it.
This doesn’t feel like a ‘Hero’s’ game, it’s more like ‘you are a slave Neo’ ‘a Battery’… What you want to bet that is the ultimate ‘aim’! Just my thoughts and opinion.
Edit: I guess I went a little overborad… I was frustrated and venting. I will keep chugging along… :joy: :persevere:

What are you trying to get? One of the rarest recipes is the fishing rod and that’s now selling for 20k. If you’re cornering the market on drake appearances or whatever, then you should be able to collect enough gold to buy the recipe you want on the AH. If you’re farming tackle boxes you should be making enough to buy the recipes in a week.

I like the profession time sinks more than running M+ over and over again or doing those Fryakk invasions they have now or dying over and over again in the Zaqali Cauldera.

You can also get the recipe to learn cerulean sea from the Tuskarr at renown 11 via a quest. Almost every one of the cooking recipes that needs a recipe in a bottle has an alternate path to obtain, either by killing a rare with a high drop rate or a rep option of some sort.

I already did that quest and picked Filet of Fangs instead. That recipe also is needed to discover some other recipes. You can only do this quest one time, and you’ll need to get bottles for the others regardless.

I don’t see any rares or vendors listed on the in-game UI or on WowHead, so please elaborate.

That’s cool for you… I do like the Fryakk thing… don’t M+ though. Honestly I think there is too much to do compared to earlier expances … Legion seemed to be a leap into that, even the professions were expanded.

Now that I finally have it…
I was going for the Winding Slitherdrake - Yellow and Silver Armor technique, which was only implemented recently. It has never been seen on my server’s auction house, and if it had, you can bet it would have gone up for a truly absurd amount because my realm has no chill when it comes to recipes. In this case, to obtain the pattern, I had to take matters into my own hands.

I know all the cooking now, so I can’t recall exactly, but there are a couple that drop from rares, one is in waking shores, IIRC. It may not say that in the crafting log but if you look the recipe up on Wowhead it will show there.

The Charred Hornswog recipe is dropped by Searing Flame Harchek, who is not a rare, but a quickly-spawning elite. Cooking recipes like Filet of Fangs do not drop from rares according to Wowhead.
