Draconic Recipe in a Bottle

Seeing how so many cooking recipes come from this item. I have been fishing for these for the last 3 days. I have yet to even get one. I have looked on Wowhead and found some spots where others who claim to get this item say they caught one. Yet I am just so confused about where to fish for these things at. I see the Chumbelly Tea recipe is on the AH yet at 65k per recipe I would rather go fish for mine.

I have not read that Blizzard changed the drop rate on this item so that should mean we as the players should, especially after 3 days have gotten at least one bottle. Yet I have gotten zero. I could really use some assistance on this from the community.

For the record, I am using the Khaz’gorite Fisherfriend at 598 plus I make the Crystalline Phial of Perception which gives +30 to Perception. I know there is a fishing hat that gives +4 to fishing yet no box to add that gear to the profession. So is their anything else that I could do to possibly get these Draconic Recipe in a Bottle?

you can buy a bag that might contain a draconic recipe in a bottle with 1 silver coin or 15 copper coins, which drops way more frequently than bottles do

This is true; however, even with the coins we’re still talking about hours of fishing for these coins. Using these coins to then get a bag which is not even guaranteed to have a bottle, and if it does contain a bottle, it is not guaranteed to contain a recipe for cooking - for example I got a bottle the other day and it was a bind-on-pickup recipe for Inscription. This is multiple levels of RNG to get recipes to level a secondary profession and it’s frustrating.

Blizz should look to Classic:WOTLK for inspiration for how those recipes are handled, that being completing cooking quests and dailies to obtain a cooking-specific currency to then redeem for recipes. At least then it would give an alternative to spending hours upon hours fishing for coins / bottles, or spending hundreds of thousands of gold on bottles / recipes on the AH.

having to rely on fishing to level cooking the way it is now is totally broken. i have fished up one bottle and bought two with gold coins and didnt get anything for cooking or for my leather working. this goes for drops from dungeons also, all i ever get are things for other professions that i dont have. they really screwed this up,

look on the bright side, you’ll be able to feed your entire guild for the rest of the expansion before you can actually cook what they want.

To increase the drop rate you need to fish from rare(r) pools

If you are lucky enough to find a treasure pool you will get a coin or a recipe almost 100%

ok what treasure pools? I think maybe I missed discovering those.

They are extremely rare - I’ve only seen maybe 4 total
They are just called treasure pool

How best to get draconic recipes is → Lunker Harpoon Raid Parties

You can get about 15 coins per hour doing lunker raids.

Don’t bother trying to just fish up coins → The fastest is with lunkering.

Get tuskaar iskaar rep up, do Lunker harpoon stuff. Trade in silver coins for bag. Good chances in the bag. Additionally, if you are going to do the fishing route, the Isle fin Dorado pools & treasure pools have the best luck to get the draconic recipes. Treasure pools are very rare. Isle fin Dorados are fairly popular.

I’ve gotten over 20 bottles. The key is to jack up your +fishing.

dang, I thought I was gonna be way ahead of everyone with the 31 I have fished up so far.
