Dr. Mechagon Robotnik?

Forgive me if this has been discussed ad nauseum, but I couldn’t help but notice when I started the Mechagon story line that it shared a striking resemblance to Dr. Robotnik’s plan from the old Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon in the 90s. You know, the whole robotization thing?

Wouldn’t it have been awesome if Jim Cummings did the voice of King Mechagon? My nostalgia meter would have gone off the charts! Haha

2 things…

  1. As a druid questing in Mechagon, I definitely feel like sonic the hedgehog fighting against the forces of industrial imperialism.

  2. There will only ever be one true Robotnik, and he shall always be Mike Pollock.

Also, he goes by “Eggman” these days.

Eggman is ugh…It is Dr. Ivo Robotnik (aka Julian Kintobor of the House of Ivo)…

Sonic is the villain of his series, IMO. Eggman outfits squirrels and other woodland creatures with badass mechsuits, and Sonic just breaks it for funsies. Not to mention, he does this to non-flying creatures while they’re in their flying mechsuits.

Not his problem, right? Let 'em fall to their deaths.

This will play in my head now as I run around Mechagon…

SnooPING AS usual, I see.

Tbh, I’m a little too convinced that robots are the other thing the Void is vulnerable against, and the gnomes that still have flesh are subject to their corruption. It’s literally the Old Gods making you fight for their ability to have control over you on Mechagon.

Well, most of us would rather not be zombies, but robots are a lot more shiny and sleek… and what is N’zoth going to do about rocket launchers?
