I never really experienced this issue until i started tanking, because i main a resto shaman.
But my god it really gets so repetitive when you are trying to tank a keystone and you know you are doing everything the right way and some dps is in the backline doing 4k shouting commands at you every 3 minutes. i am not your butler. i know what i am doing so let me do it. especially when you are in the backline doing 4k dps.
You want tanks do it yourself or stop harassing the people who are willing to do it for you. /end rant
This isnât a tanking problem or a role specific problem. DPS are the most common occurrence of this though because thereâs 3 for every 5 man group. The odds of it being a DPS are simply higher based on statistics.
The issue here though is that people in all roles can suck and all roles can be rude to one another and everybody sometimes develops a complex. Itâs the nature of people.
Easy solution: network and find a guild. Find a group which can run together often where this kind of thing doesnât happen. People will be happier in all departments. This is part of the issue involving pugging is you never know if youâre gonna get someone rude or not.
true, but not many people on this early in the morning, lots of rude people in group finder though apparently, i dont know why, or why they are insulting me telling me im not even ksm after i tell them i know what to do, i have been keystone master for 3 seasons in. idk keystone karens out in full force, i just hope they remember this the next time theyâre in queue for the tyr dungeon for 2 whole hours.
Itâs true DPS are pretty toxic players (not that tanks and healers canât be) but the toxicity is usually focused at 2 people, the tank or the healer. so yeah you can see why people donât want to tank your m+ because they pull the âwrong packâ and you just complain about how stupid they are âwhy are you pulling this?â etc etc
I still love tanking, but Iâve been known to kick people from keys and say, âEveryone out. Weâll do it one lower without this numbskullâ and turn around for the exit.
Getting a higher key is trivial compared to dealing with the rage-inducing non-Tank Tanks kibbitzing from the back seat.
I mean, if youre running keys in the early morning you aint gonna get the best and brightest. Most people are either sleeping or at work. Leaving the pool of players to be mostly the manchildren who never learned how to socialize.
We get it , because occasional people aggrivate others in mythics or whatever most feel they have to blame and go off on specializations like tanking, dps and healing.
This isnât just a mythic thing, you get a hats from every side of it not just one or another.
DPS are the worst ones. Most act like they know everything about every spec but their own and suddenly they canât remember what a cooldown is to quite literally save their life. There is a reason for the term âtank shortageâ, but thereâs no shortage, theyâre getting away from toxic, abusive people in pugs.
People playing early morning on a Monday are going to be on average, young students, college kids, or unemployed. All three are demographics that donât necessarily need to be not rude. So thereâs no selective pressure for them to be nice.
Number of toxic dps outnumber toxic tanks - queue times says its all , you need 3 dps and 1 tank ,not 3 tanks and 1 dps so the dps should be more in demand
Imagined if you need 3 tanks, how long the queue will be
For queued content like normal/heroics, tanks donât engage with that content because of how toxic the votekick system is. I used to do the occasional daily normal/heroic, especially when there were tank incentive bags, but stopped after some DPS votekicked me because the healer wasnât healing at all
Remove votekick, or give tanks/healers a hard veto, and I might go back to doing normals/heroics.
For higher level content, itâs a game of tanks progressing more rapidly than DPS, due to minimal time to find a group. Once Iâve progressed past +5, I donât do 5s again. Once Iâm fully geared, I never pug at all, I only run weekly runs for friends. Youâll never solve this, unless you give me enormous incentives to run lower level keys.
Morning key people are always terrible players. If I am ever pugging in the mornings, I will probably complete at least one key. Other than that late keys rule.
