DPS what Tank and Healer Combo Do You Like the Most

Thought this could be an interesting take on the other threads asking healers and tanks about their preferences.

Since tanks are a major factor in the overall dps capability (i.e. pull size, not moving out of aoe, ect.), I’m wonder if there is a specific tank/healer class combo that you have seen to consistently pull trash in a way to maximize your aoe and cooldowns. Maybe even ones where you don’t have to worry about aggro.

BDK so the healer can pump. Rsham for lust

I haven’t played a BDK before, is their self-sustain that much better than a Prot Pally?

I would so say, for sure. There are players out there that don’t enjoy healing BDK’s as it can be kind of stressful seeing your tank bounce between 20% and full HP a lot, but their sustain is top tier. BDK is unironically the best healer in the game

I do not mind which tank the tank is playing as long as they are competent and kind. I love grouping with good resto shamans. So, I suppose my favorite is Tank + Rsham

Literally do not care as DPS.

But a Prot Paladin is always fantastic. The sheer number of interrupts is insane, and if the healer is struggling or dies, a good Prot Paladin can just become the healer with little issue in many cases.

When I play on my lock, I would say Prot Palain or BDK because they can self-sustain well and won’t kite out of my Rain of Fire. For healers, I think Druid works well because they can sit in the healing circle.

Prot pally (shockingly) and rSham. I like the splashy water effect.

I really like the combo of two players who’ve played together for a while.
Very different culture, it feels so solid.

Their self sustain is nuts. Did a 26 Tyr SD last night where the tank soloed the last 800k of torvald with no issue.

given the lack of tank and healers in the game, really like a competent group of players to accompany in my task of securing Azeroth safe

Ya Blood DK self heals is bonkers, it will give your healer a heart attack if they aren’t used to healing one.

That’s pretty nuts. I failed 2 23 SDs this week, both on Torvold. I think it was a DPS check issue, because I was 2nd in dps that fight on one of them as a tank.

Add dps makes or breaks that fight. The dps can also make the healer’s life easy or hard as well. Even in higher keys I see dps use a defensive or immune for the first castigate when they should be holding it. That’s the easiest one to heal, a defensive is much more impactful later when the castigate overlaps with the add aoe.

Yeah CD management was the issue in the first run, DPS check in the second. Hunter died from castigate and didn’t know he could feign death. Also died with turtle CD still up.

Brewmaster+ resto druid is a good one

But my favorite is Rsham + prot paladin atm

It’s pretty difficult to heal as well even if everyone else is playing well. If you aren’t prepared for a castigate and the add aoe you likely won’t be able to just heal it on the fly…at least with the healer’s I play…I have to prepare for each and every one.

The left right dance can trip people up too when there’s a lot going on. I do this stupid thing with putting my left foot forward if I’m supposed to be to the left and my right foot forward if I need to be to the right. If I just try to rely on remembering I will lose focus during chaotic times and forget sometimes.

Edit: as for the topic thread, as a healer I don’t really mind healing any tank. I can’t speak for healers but I get the sense that people don’t like r Druids. I get declined from keys 3-4 levels below my max timed key regularly, an issue I don’t have on my resto shaman.

Which tank and healer do the least DPS? Whatever makes the DPS’ damage meter bar bigger is the only thing that is seen or matters to DPS.

Kind of hard to judge how well others are doing when 90% of the screen is just the damage meter.

The combo that holds aggro, keeps the baddies from chewing my face, and throws me a couple heals now and again when I need 'em.

Have you noticed the aggro buff in other tank classes? I don’t think Paladin’s really had that problem, so it’s hard for me to know from this side.
