Are DPS Warriors (Fury) the only class in the game that aren’t allowed to roll on their own class set in Molten Core?
So many raids use MS/OS and there are only 3 -4 items that I can think of that a fury warrior would need on in MC . And a few of those items the tanks would also need . Like the plate belt from Rag .
I feel like being a DPS warrior in MC is actually gimping yourself.
Tanks usually going to get priority (all depends on the loot system being implemented) but as a Fury warrior, you should be getting access to loot. It’s a great DPS.

All warrior tier gear is tank based. I guess I’m not 100% sure what all the BiS raid gear is for a DPS warrior, but most of it isn’t going to get used.
its because fury pre bis is way better then almost anything u get in MC.
the warrior tier set for dps sucks, cause it doesn’t have enough hit on it.

You are gimping yourself and the raid if you actually roll on those items.
It’s not because it’s a shiny purple that you NEED to roll on it.
Fact is gear has poor stats allocation on them in classic and some blues / boe drops are better for dps.
It may suck that we don’t have a set we can use but what does it matter if you get less dps from it?
Not only that but fully gearing 2 tanks took us 7 raids, now all the loot is getting off rolled by dps warriors and sitting in our bags for those Strat live runs
It actually like this for classes that play more than one roll.
Druid tier is for heals
Paladin tier is for Healing
Warrior tier is for tanking
Shaman tier is for healing
Priest tier is for healing
This changes a little bit with AQ, as tier 2.5 blizz tried to make it viable for other specs, so you might want to look at tier 2.5
but outside of raids what if I want to tank 5 man dungeons for loot and just for enjoying tanking in general . no tank spots in raids those are all taken .
I think Im being used . Seems like the smart option is not to raid and just farm AV for pvp rank gear and call it a day .
You need might gear to tank dungeons?

You will be running MC for months still. Be patient, you will get your tank gear…
(Also you do not need mc gear to tank 5 mans)
As a dps warrior, you raid for weapons.
Weren’t you tanking those dungeons before you started raiding anyways?
I still use my pre-bis set for tanking dungeons in fury spec and it’s as easy as it was gearing up. You don’t need the epics to do Strat/Scholo/Dm
Now if you meant “I want to play tank but I don’t have a MT/OT raid spot and can’t get gear as dps because of loot rules” … yeah I get that, it sucks but it is what it is!
I wanted to MT also, I geared up as tank and had my spot in raid with my first guild but we were not progressing so I eventually moved on and my new guild obviously had their tank spots taken. Been dps since and like I said, we’re starting to get tanking set as dps but you can put a cross on Thunderfury

If your end game goal is to get tier gear then you will need to look at the stats and set bonuses of tier gear to determine what you play. Though for dps only classes their tier is set up for every spec(since they are all dps). Good luck
unless you play a pure dps class, Tier sets are not always your best option… and even then!
Dont play a class for their tier set, play it because you enjoy it.
What do you need to roll a new class for? You can tank 5’s in 5 man gear and you can keep DPSing in raids and collecting raid gear. What’s the issue? You’re not getting all of the gear all of the time?
99% of the time Im in AV and Im main tank on npc
1% of the time Im in MC and Im expected to have to DPS
What should I do? I need that tanking gear outside of raids 99% of the time . And also Tanks are beasts in PVP compared to weak dps warriors .
I think I know deep down what I have to do , I have to quit raiding .
Well a couple bosses in MC require more than 2 tanks.
Are you in a raiding guild or do you pugg?
If you raid with your guild I’d try to see with an officier if you can be considered the second Off-tank and have the same loot priority as the “main OT” (I know my guild has an MT / OT who are prot, a second OT who is arms/prot and then for fights like Garr we have some dps warriors put tank gear on)
If you pugg, I’d try to get an invite as OT and roll on tank gear, make it clear you are tank and rolling on tank gear but can dps if required.
not allowed to roll on set gear . 4 other tanks in raid are getting it all ,
if 2h wep drops all warriors are allowed to roll,
if dps bow drops the 10+ rogues in raid roll on it .
If dps plate drops all the warriors roll because tanks need threat gear
So basically tanks get all the gear . because they need threat gear for onyxia .
I think dps war gets to roll on um … trying to think hard of item just for dps warrior . nope cant think of one off the top of my head .

No you don’t. You don’t even need raid gear to tank the current raids.

That’s a load, the tanks shouldn’t be prio on 2h honestly. Especially if they are prio on all the tank gear.
Ok? Of course they can roll on it. DPS warriors aren’t a higher priority than rogues.

If you don’t like it, why not find a different guild? Why quit over it?
