Dps requirements

People asking for 85k+ dps for normal what’s the avg dps someone should be doing around 440 ilvl?

i havent been paying alot of attention to the dps in pugs but i can say 85k dps isnt asking for to much especially for dps checks. sure its a bit more than you need since people will be doing more also but rather than chance it it isnt to bad.

normal raid?..yea sounds about right.

Many classes burst and ramp up more than that the first 30 seconds of the fight or so.

In a normal dungeon? they are out of their minds.

Sounds completely normal and achievable.

For normal, a reasonable minimum expectation is: Gnarlroot 85k, Iriga 65k, Volcoross 70k, Council 60k, Larodar 70k, Nymue 60k, Smolderon 65k, Tindral 50k, Fyrakk 75k. You can be lax on these if they have lower ilvl or are a worse spec/one that brings a lot of buffs like augvoker. You can also be tighter for specs that have no excuse not to meet these like BM hunter.

85k is pretty reasonable.

I was doing 95k+ at 445 in the pug I joined yesterday, we had people at or above my ilvl struggling to get above 40k during the first several attempts at Fyrakk.

Most failed attempts I’ve seen on Fyrakk are due to just two things - lack of damage and healers not dispelling basically on cooldown. Seeds get figured out eventually, but getting the p3 is the biggest roadblock for pugs in my experience.

I honestly have no idea what is reasonable. I do know, however, that my damage is wildly unreasonable, and that’s a good time.

Pewpew is love, pewpew is life.

I should play my Mage more.

It mostly depends on talents builds and your trinkets.

If you have good season 2 trinkets, you can probably burst 150-300k in ST, and maintain around 80-110k depending on the class.

However, if you have bad trinkets… well… don’t expect those numbers, but you can at least burst for more than 100k and deal on avg around 65k+.

Sim yourself. Probably 40-45s, and 2min durations, single target boss.
You’ll get an idea of your potential Lust opening burst, and the sustained entire fight.
See where you fall.

Mage is so fun right now, tossing 700k+ GS into the boss feels so good.

What? This is with Augvoker pumping your damage or mastery procs/trinkets, right?

Edit: Nvm, you also got great trinkets and new 2pc tier.

I’ll admit I tend to have high expectations, but around 440-445 item level I’m expecting players to - at minimum - be encroaching on 100k dps. Gear doesn’t equal skill though. A bad player at 460 will do less damage than a good player at 440.
I have seen plenty of players not hit the mark, and as long as there are decent performers in the group you can still advance. It’s so much easier if everyone is on par though. I’ve recommended a few people to use a priority add-on like Hekili or something similar. It won’t make a bad player great, but it can help train them as to what abilities to prioritize in certain situations. We had a UHDK doing 50k single target last tier and after messing around w/ priority abilities they went up to 90k. Still wasnt great for 441, but it was definitely a noticeable improvement having them nearly double their output.
Sim yourself without full raid buffs. If you’re not within 20k of that number, start looking at where you’re losing damage. Cycling CDs, energy starvation, missing an on-use trinket. Little stuff can add up over a long fight.

In a couple weeks people will be doing 200k+

My first clear on normal we had people between 70k - 140k

So 85k seems okay

I need to start learning what all this is I’m playing sub rogue this season and can do about 70k around 180k in the burst window…what is a sim? I’ve never looked at logs or anything either lol

At 430 ilvl I was doing 50k in LFR last night.

My trinkets are trash and my stats are also terrible.

Which is why you run normal in the first place, to change that, so people who have their little requirements are exactly why you form your own groups. I guess any of us could always just run LFR too and wipe 20 times because the tank doesn’t speak English.

I did LFR on 2 characters this week and did them both easily without any wipes.

85k is low season 2 dps

Raidbots will tell you
