Blizzard how hard is it to nerf the top 5 classes/specs by 20% and buff the bottom 5 by 20%?
Come on

AHHHH all that blue light at the top hurt my eyes!
When your spec falls in DPS to a “tank”… okay blizz
Blizzard balances this game based on the average player. I can tell you I’m not doing slightly above the tanks damage as a ranged hunter for example
change it to 75th percentile and it’s actually even more atrocious
75th percentile is the average player. You want to turn it to 90ish.
Shaman way of the earth/rockbiter, and arcane surge are really the only things that need major nerfs right now. Ranged Hunter, Frost Mage, and Feral druid need some more buffs.
correct. the claim was that it’s balanced for average
They don’t really mean anything. Again, across the 3 hunters we have who are performing well, they’re not sitting at the bottom of the dps meters at all, because in most groups you aren’t going to have people parsing perfectly equally amongst each other
statistics are meaningless? do u also want to debunk statistics as a valid measurement of socioeconomic inequality, IQ, voter demographics, etc?
If given the chance, players will engineer the fun out of any game.
You’re looking at a chart where everyone is parsing equally and that never happens. So yes, they’re pretty meaningless in this case unless you’re playing at the absolute top end where everyone is performing on an equal playing field and the group composition is perfect. And even then, it doesn’t play out like that on a fight by fight basis.
Look at Raymond, Viperia, Negative, Reptarrevise on Lone Wolf. We all pull respectable damage as ranged hunters but the charts would make it look like we’re about to hit like wet noodles. It’s honestly fine
Look at ickyhunt on the top end of things in one of the most competitive and well-playing guilds there are. He’s not on the bottom in fights either. So how is that reflected on the charts you’re looking at
You guys get so stuck in spreadsheets instead of just playing the game and the game plays a lot different than a spreadsheet
I’m totally fine with playing MM hunter. The rotation is enjoyable. The damage can top other players. It has some nice aoe and has zero downtime in terms of having to get mana. Could it use a few buffs? Sure, but I don’t ever feel like I’m struggling to do more than the tank as these charts suggest. Never has that happened. Am I top DPS sometimes? Absolutely I am.
Tell me you know nothing about statistics without telling me you know nothing about statistics.
I think people forget that the average player is really, really bad. I may not be topping the charts on Warcraft Logs, but I am absolutely topping the meters in my group. Had a PuG where there were only 3 of us above 250dps. Everyone else was sitting around 90-100.
You’re right dude everyone who raids parses the exact same % and if you get a 99 the rest of your raid also gets a 99 so then you’re going to be slightly above the tank as a MM hunter (I’m going to let you know that was sarcasm because you guys are kind of dense). I just showed 5 names of ranged hunters (1 is me, 3 I know) from groups with different skill levels and clear speeds you can look at the fights and see that happening, which correlates strongly with the “statistics” you’re using incorrectly
Honestly, it’s fine. Gnomer heavily favors non-physical DPS, which is fine.
Check out the top ranks (max bracket) comparison on viscous fallout. Warriors pushing 1500 dps and we haven’t even gotten Recklessness yet. Its gonna be so wildly juicy next phase.
Warriors are doing really well in the raid overall. and that’s with 3 bosses having higher than normal armor values because of the whole mechanical robot concept, which i suspect wont be a factor next phase.
Mages are looking pretty good but also a bit inflated from Managerie fight as a concept due to the really powerful AoEing.
so you admit then that you’re not talking about averages
It’s much worse than it looks for Ret. We need ACP to be competitive, and a 13% drop chance is pretty rough.
Because it changes raid to raid?
BFD was High Resist (Pro-physical: Warrior, Rogue, Kitty)
Gno is High Armor (Pro-Magic: Mage, Warlock, Shaman)
How hard is it to understand that your class can’t be as good as every other class in everything, or they might as well skip classes altogether?
