I don’t think the spell damage is the problem. It’s your mana bar more often than not.
I don’t think what we need is more damage, its why pvp is miserable. We need less damage.

K guy. Damage effects both sides of the game. If top end did less damage casters wouldn’t need more damage. Insert happy face?
Yeah, because of the PvP Andy, some spec can’t work AKA affliction in PVE because it would be broken in PVP , but most of the player don’t want to roll on pvp realms where you get camped on every new events they do. So balancing around PvP should really not be the norm. But now even the viable caster specs fall behind by like almost 20%+, and at level 60 it gets way worse in classic so yeah…
PVE servers still have PVP in battlegrounds. More damage effects the game.
Its literally not a hard concept to understand. Tone the top end down, casters won’t need more damage, retune the content.
They nerfed hunter’s like 10 and more times and they are still over other classes by a margins miles. So it’s pointless to kill a class for the sake of the others, they can just give better tools to others classes to try to balance it off.
Hunter and shaman damage is mostly coming from not having offhand penalty. There main attack swings both primary and secondary at full damage. Doesn’t matter what they nerf as long as they have up to date weapons and their spammable ability.
The solution is not more damage. You don’t need 1.5k dps at lvl 50.
For the record, all the OP offender’s hunter, shaman, rogue have 1 thing in common. Their main attack swings both weapons. Hunter damage skyrocketed once they were given duel wield specialization which includes full offhand damage and their primary abilities swings both hands. Shaman damage skyrocketed when they added full offhand damage to our duel wield specialization talent that also allows stormstrike to swing both hands. Rogues running around mutilation people in 2 hits, they swing both weapons.
PvE and PvP are inseparable in classic this is what a lot of retail vacationers don’t get
Warriors and rogues will scale better and will pass hunters around mid phase. This is normal and expected. Hunters will likely be around 3rd to 5th dps ina few weeks.
Amen… They want the entire game catered to the 1 hour a week raid they log in and out for lol.
Raiding is such a small small portion of vanilla wow.
Tbf, a lot of what makes up Vanilla WoW out in the open world is almost trivial with our level of power.
But also who cares about rankings, everyone is pumping right now.
You run out if mana on the 40 second boss fights?
Just have more fights that are unfriendly to melee, like in Gnomer
Casters need spell haste, not damage.
By the time they cast a spell melee have 14 crits dealt.
60 gear needs haste.
I like seeing the green boys back on top again.

PvE stuff gets nerfed because of PvP stuff all the time. See Hunter pets during BFD for instance. This is just maybe the first time it’s happened to such a prized posession.
Casters need more mana, less costly spells, not something that’s going to make them oom sooner.
