Yeah, they’re the only ones who scale.
weird cope, zugs are still on top on warcraft logs
Frosty can reach a conclusion with less evidence than my wife.
I damn near spit out my coffee on that one!
Once they get bloodvine warlocks will 1 shot bosses
I’m only here to throw a few dots on the boss then afk for the next 25-30 seconds.
According to logs…
Ranged are better on these fights:
- Rag
- Golemagg
- Sulfuron
- Baron Geddon
- Garr
Melee are better on these fights:
- Shazzrah (only cause warriors pop reck)
- Major Domo (cause you can stack adds cause fight is EZ)
- Gehennas (EZ fight)
- Lucifron (EZ fight)
- Magmadar (has shadow resistance)
Melee are good on the fights that are easy. They can easily be replaced by more ranged and have higher overall DPS for the entire raid.
Also people still aren’t using warlocks properly. Very few raids have enough for them to shine, and they are already top DPS on several bosses.
Just wait for warlocks to be used correctly.
I laughed.
Aloud.
The data everyone is looking for is here:

I didn’t even have to use my crystal ball to predict this. The removal of world buffs nerfed warrior DPS harder than everyone else, but not hard enough to move them down from #1. Therefor the best warriors are getting stacked comps which makes for a higher top end. Rogues are behind them and hunters are doing really well in early phases. Warlocks and frost mages are meh.
Warlocks are doing about 15-30% more damage now that they can use DOTs (depending on what curse they’re using). You could sim it using Zephan’s spreadsheet, which still works just fine in SOM. It’s not enough to let them catch up with Rogues, but they’re not as far behind as they used to be.
Warlocks will catch up a little bit once hit gear becomes available, but they’re never going to be #1.
Once mages can spec fire, they’ll probably catch up to rogues. Since wbuffs were giving like 20% crit, they won’t gain the same amount of DPS as they did in Classic. If not, they’ll be up there near Warrior and Rogue DPS.
Hunters will probably fall behind in later phases. IDK hunters that well, but they seem to have worse scaling.
Melee just do a lot more damage on EASY fights and it skews the results. All the hard fights that actually matter have ranged as top DPS.
Just look at boss damage. Ranged are top on a lot of fights and warlocks are top ranged on like 3 or 4 bosses. It will only improve as they get more gear and people start stacking warlocks.
This is some top tier copium… or maybe a decent troll. I can’t tell which.
I really hope it’s a troll. Dude definitely leveled a lock to 60 thinking siphon life would carry him to top the meters.
I play rogue in SoM.
You seem to be trying to hang onto the fact that siphon life is going to make locks top the meters pretty hard, I’m pretty certain you play a lock lol
I play rogue and I have a low level hunter.
Oh right so you’re here trying to justify why a locks beating you on the meters?
I’m sure this goes without saying (but let’s say it anyway) the 1 random log you linked is a pretty bad argument. Something like 123 of the top 125 dps logs in MC are warriors and rogues with the 2 line exceptions being mages.

But…
But…
But, that’s only because no one has learned to play a warlock yet.
I am pretty sure it is a troll, he has been posting about how amazing warlocks will be and are for months now, and nearly everyone told him, the first few MCs ranged will do well, just like they did in classic, then warriors and rogues once they get gear, will be the top damage.
He continues to deny it, even with all the evidence in the world. The dude is just in a trash guild that has a few pretty good warlocks and leadership that builds their raids and strategies around warlocks so in his guild they do pretty well. That is all.
