like how the stalwart defenders of dps meters are lfr/normal raiders. Yes I’m sure you need to practice your rotation 8 hours a day to down that lfr boss dude you keep at it.

DPS meters aren’t great but I haven’t heard any good alternatives either, I imagine combat system would need a major overhaul to bring anything new and there’s no way blizz would have the spine to do something like that.

If you think mythic raider or M+ groups aren’t using DPS meters, I would question your experience in that content.

I think is a community side issue. If you don’t like dps meter, find a guild or find people who agree with you and want a different experience.

Competitivism and elitism have been part of this game since day one. Even if Blizzard does something about it, people will find another goalpost to compare players, and if we bring down all goalposts. Then what’s the point of this game?.

I would say a good alternative would be a meter like details that show the stats after a fight or after you leave the instance.

Thats because of a bunch of rng mechanics they put in.

The game you’re looking for is FF14. Which they STILL have logs, you’re still going to be booted for being bad. But you can’t publicly shame people, I guess.

Your looking at it from a pub perspective in a very toxic group.

The use for it is a tool for Guilds to access what works in a raid, certain encounters will favor certain class/covenant/specs being able to read the raw stats raid wide will allow adjustments to what/who are brought in and who is best suited to deal with mechanics.
