What DPS meter are people using in BFA?
details
10 char
None.
I stopped caring about the numbers when I realized that I was focusing more on them and getting to the âtop of the chartâ rather than actually enjoying the game, so I uninstalled my DPS meter and never looked back.
Details
Nothing else is nearly as good.
Shaka doesnât know, that Fiona and me, DPS in her van every sunday.
And never got invited back to anything, amarite ?
But details gives you so much useful information that can help you play better.
No, it doesnât, not in my opinion at least.
Iâd rather use an addon like Tellmewhen to optimize my rotation, which actually does help me play better, rather than stare at a bunch of numbers and get frustrated that despite my attempts to get there, Iâm still not at the top of the DPS meters.
Thats fine. If you only use Details for DPS Meters, you are ignoring about 87% of its functionality.
It just means you were using it wrong, and therefor werenât getting the useful information out of it that can help you play better.
The comparison tool for similar specs is great when trying to see why my damage may have been low, but another ele shams damage was high.
Seeing who is taking a lot of damage, from what. Seeing how add damage is being applied, and who is ignoring adds is important. Interrupts. Deaths, and what caused them. Debuff uptime. Buff up time.
All important pieces of information that can help you play better.
Details is objectively the best DPS meter. Skada comes second. Recount is outdated, poorly-optimized, and generally a joke of an addon.
Imagine using details only for the dps meter LUL.
I used to use dps add-ons but my massive DPS broke the meters and I was banned from using add-ons due to abuse.
Details is the most accurate. But good Lord the UI of it is horrible to navigate. Worst add-on UI Iâve literally ever used.
I JUST WANT TO SEE MY AVERAGE OF WHAT MY ABILITIES ARE HITTING FOR. Why is this so anoyying!? I can do this in half a mili second on skada.
WHY DO YOU PUT SO LITTLE INFO PER MENU, ITS 3 LINES , AND THE DEFAULT MENU SIZE IS SEVERAL INCHES. Save me a few million unescessary clicks and combine them, Jesus christ!
Donât care about pin point accuracy and just want to see how you compare: SKADA
Want that pin point accuracy : DETAILS.
Just be prepared to deal with some braindead organization in the menus. I learned skadas layout in 2 seconds. Still canât get used to navigating details.
Been using Recount forever.
It just works.
I have details installed, but never actually look at it. No need when you play a Human Male Paladin and everything is perfect already.
Same but thinking of switching to Details. Tired of people being like âYou STILL use Recount!?â Also from what I understand Details displays more information and better accuracy.
Feel like Iâve been using recount since wotlk. It feels a bit bad to just kick it for a better version. Thatâs just how add-ons go though.
I find Details to be the best add-on to use. While mostly using it for DPS/HPS, having the other information at hand should I need it is extremely helpful. One best use, is seeing how high up the DPS meter you can be while being as low on the damage taken meter as you can will be able to help you learn how to do full dps while following mechanics.
I use Recount personally. I just find it more lightweight and easier to use, takes up less space to be efficient.
I think Details! is overall the better DPS meter though in terms of what information it provides. The fact I donât use it is just preference based on what I first used, and I did have a minor issue with it at the start of BoD but I canât remember how exactly it was playing up.
Depends how people use the resources.
Itâs the same as things like Bloodmallet and Icy Veins, if you just read it and assume the details it means nothing, if you attempt to understand the data and the reasoning and look at more than just the base information it means a whole lot more.
Details always.
Details looks as if it is working to move Warcraft logs into WoW. Iâd rather have something more lightweight like Skada and if itâs super important just livelog.
But if you donât go to WL, this would be the tool from what I see.
