Why do they do this? It’s not even just hunters eather. I’ve noticed every dps from warrior to DK run past the tank, pull 4-5 mobs then the tank runs in to save them…are they just impatient or what?

Yeah. It’s the “go go go” mentality. Even when tanks aren’t pulling too slow I see DPS doing this, so I dunno.

Its funny when its mobs you specifically don’t pull together because of a horrible overlap of mechanics and it wipes everyone so they flame you

If they used a cooldown that still has a few seconds on it they want to get that extra damage in on the next pack instead of waiting. It’s all because of dps meters.

Might be they have cooldowns and wanna do big damage. The best way to go about this is to use big boy words and communicate such to the tank, but too many of us lack that sort of maturity.

The “go go go” mentality in action. Personally, I tend to stand by the healer, even if the tank is a mile ahead. I trust my healer way more than my tank most of the time. If the tank and other dps want to eat the floor, then that’s their prerogative.

Probably because the tank isn’t pulling enough, and/or just fast enough for what the group can handle. And eventually DPS may just take things into their own hands if tanks are moving at a glacial pace.
Most dungeons can have 2-3 trash packs pulled together, adequately survived, and ultimately cleared more quickly due to AoE/cleave.

I only see this happen in things like Heroics where the tank is going slow.

this happened to me in an 18 BH the other night. people just repeatedly pulling extra things for me. wiping over and over because i was also pretty much the only one kicking. i finally left after like the 5th wipe due to a buttpull and sure enough i got a whisper a minute later “you bad tank, bad route”

This has been a thing since forever. Even in Vanilla, and in each stage of Classic. People don’t want to waste time when things are notably inefficient.

problem is so many people do it. eventually once they all get kicked a few times for it they will learn tho.
