I sympathize with the devs a little, but at the same time they’ve had a hand in contributing to this mess. Yes, players will do what players do, but the devs kind of dropped the ball with how specs play within dungeons.
Every time they nerfed or buffed some aspect of core gameplay the ripple effect compounded into the catastrophe we have today.
They can’t just, “Gut it” now without causing a humongous outcry.
There are a lot of issues with the core design of the game right now that need to be addressed. So many that I think it’s a lost case. Would be better to just let it ride in the poop-show that it is and start over with a completely new franchise.
I couldn’t possibly agree more. Know your player base we are getting older. I’ve completely shelved my rogue. I just can’t do it all anymore: The insane apm, dodge swirlies and do all the CC/ints
DPS has actually been pretty balanced this season. The only role that you could say is imablanced right now is tank. And using 26-32 data to ask for balance changes doesn’t make sense. That’s such a small percentage of overall M+ runs. Look at 20’s-23’s where the majority of M+ players stay each week and you’ll see a different picture.
Highest timed key at the time are +31s, which are cleared with Mage-containing groups, WW-containing groups and double Destro lock containing groups; not mage specific
My apologies. This post you made is something I - clearly - know nothing about. So, what would happen if the 5-mob target spell(s) in arcane were increased by, say a 10% intellect coefficient? Is that all that’s needed in your opinion?
Or is it more about uncapping the 5-mob spell(s) to allow for Arcane to throw up competitive / needed numbers?
Here is the deal with WoW. WoW was a raid focused MMO, and this style of content is just falling out of favor with modern gamers, or raiding has just gotten too hard in retail based on what I’m seeing in SoD. So the developers were looking for other game modes to keep players engaged, hence M+ coming onto the scene.
The problem is, the game wasn’t designed for this style of competitive content, and the devs have been struggling with M+ since it was implemented.
Blizzard should have just made WoW 2 if they wanted to pivot away from the old design philosophies that WoW was built on. Modern WoW is having a huge identity crisis right now. Basically the M+ crowd that like small group content and the old school crowd that enjoys raiding being more of the focus.
There is some cross over here with the player base, but as a whole there are 2 camps in WoW now vying for more focus on their preferred activity.
I’m not saying M+ players are wrong for enjoying that content, it is just the core game wasn’t built with this type of content being the focus of the game.
They really needed to make a new version of WoW that had a modern audience in mind instead of pushing this stuff into a 15 year old MMO.
Yup, outlaw seems insanely dependent on frequent and random procs. Which is fine until you also have to pay attention to a deluge of dance dance while being hyper focused on interrupting mobs that are warping all over the gawd damn place.
Enjoyed it in BFA and SL and took mine for a spin this season when I gave up on feral. Noped out of it pretty quickly for these reasons.
M+ was probably one of the best player retention tools that blizzard has ever put in. The old ways died out for a reason i mean just look at classic. Most people just raid log on there now in days. If theybhad kept the same philosophy then the game would have died completely instead they adapted and overcame.
Warcraftlogs uses Rio data.
The keys you are looking at are untimed keys
Untimed keys don’t count (no value), whic his why warcraftlog doesn’t use them
SoD raiding is as popular as ever. Look at the logs for SoD raids, they are getting great engagement.
What is wrong with that? I don’t get people like you that need to play this game 24/7. You are not making a great case here for modern players that have limited time.
Um, the Classic versions of the game are very popular, we can see in real time that your assumptions here are just WRONG!!!
The reason raiding fell off in retail, is because it just way too hard and time-consuming.
I hate when people use this as a means to prop M+ as well. Can’t we just discuss M+ independent of other content for second?
Can we discuss the lack of content M+ has, how it is limited to a very small amount of recycled dungeons, how it pushes a certain meta, how it limits class design.
People are so caught up in this raid vs M+ that we never can discuss if M+ is actually a good system for the game.
