I well go ahead and say that I do mostly M+. I have been doing keys around 16-18 mostly. It is such a terrible time and experience. I am literally getting out DPSed by BM and Havoc by almost double my damage. We rely on DnD way too much for us to be competitive in aoe. By biggest complaint about this new tier is not being able to get Absolute Zero for the aoe stun. I understand we have blinding sleet, but having an aoe stun is better. I am hoping they give us some spec tunings, because unholy is even worse. Tanks do more damage than unholy, it’s pathetic.
I thought I was the only one who felt this way. Tried both frost & unholy. Both have felt fairly underwhelming in M+ and it hasn’t felt this bad in a while
You both are alone in that, my fdk cranks insane numbers
DnD cleave should still be reworked so we dont need dnd tho
I got my mastery to 40% and wow I can kill stuff faster than before. Might try and bring up vers as well
im at 22% crit, 18% haste, 9% vers and 80% mastery in PvE
I’m a bit low on the mastery. Maybe I’ll try to pick some up and see where that gets me.
You can still take it. I do. I drop one charge of ERW for it.
hey do you raid with that?
ya i mean i pugged normal in it, my gear isnt even that good either tbh lower on the ilvl end of things im at like 457 ilvl and most heroic raiders are around 470ish
btw is 452 of to get into a heroic raid
All I know. Is doing “solo” PVE quests is at point I don’t even want to play anymore.
The Unholy DPS build up concept is so slow, by the time the DOTs have started clicking the Mob is dead. Now that sounds like a good thing right? No.
When you look over as see other toons looting and pulling more mobs, while your idiotic pet finally moves in to attack from being summoned and your DOTs finally click, while you swing your 2 handed weapon that does the same amount of damage as a broom stick.
I hate it.
Suffer Well.
The wounds system and diseases should be thier own path in the unholy tree
Something needs to change so you got mob killers and stuff for the boss.
Unholy shouldn’t have to suffer one part to just be good in another
Unholy DPS is actually much better than it was last season. They pulled back army and gargoyle damage and moved it to other areas. On 2-4 targets it is underwhelming compared to other classes still, for sure. The new 2 set bonus adds really nice cleave damage and once you get the 4 set, even better.
Without Dark Transformation or apoc the tank is usually out dpsing me. But bigger pulls I am usually neck and neck with DH’s and BM hunters. Single target with disease build in M+ i’m usually first.
If its tyrannical week 9 times out of 10 we will get stomped by classes with on demand burst… ret pallies, bm hunter cleave, DH. Our damage is ramping and by the time we click our 7 buttons and start getting festermight stacks the trash is nearly dead.
I hate frost with a passion. Unless the tank stays in D and D you do nothing. Chill streak bounces too slowly and if it hits the target and it dies, it will not bounce.
Make remorseless winter turn obliterate into a cleave rather than D and D or maybe just i don’t know make Frostscythe NOT a dead talent in our tree for several expansions. It makes 0 sense to have Obliterate cleave but make Frostscythe horribly undertuned when it’s entire design is cleaving
Run plague bringer and ebon fever it increases the speed of dot damage.
Id like if dnd can be morphed into something that follows you instead, like the hammers ret pally can replace consecrate with.
For Frost, combine DnD and Remorseless Winter into one ability… (Remorseless Winter replaces DnD)
Buff Frostscythe and have it replace frost strike in cleave situations.
Not a fan of Chill Streak or these Tier sets that build around 1 specific ability. Feels bad to have to pick a mediocre ability i normally don’t use.
IMO frost feels best when we’re able to ramp up to weaving KM and RIME, and I’d like to see the rest of our abilities designed to promote that uptime.
Currently I’m at 458 Ilvl, simming between Breath and OBI builds, and still find my dps to be below BM hunters and Ret Pally. Feels pretty bad.
With Blizzard’s new Mechanics driven philosophy to raid and m+ design paired with DK’s limited mobility, our dps is going to suffer… especially Breath.
No, DnD is still useful for pvp. It should just remain as an ability purely used to break stealth, force combat, stop drinks etc
Theres a lot of ideas floating around about sycthe, but this outcome would be preferable to glacial advance imo
either give glacial advance its old OG beta animation back, or scrap it imo lol
It was exciting before they immediately kill switched the fun by making the bounces on the DK count on the bounces. Outside of this tier bonus i would agree though i mean me personally i hate chillstreak and i want absolutely nothing to do with it especially for obliteration builds. But ever since BFA i always knew a pve chillstreak might be kinda cool
I mean true, Frost experiences High peaks and very low valleys i think thats most peoples problem with the spec. In dragonflights beta, Icecap and Obliteration were added in conjunction for the first time and Icecap had a 4s cooldown reduction on pillar per critical strike
I could never even begin to tell you how good that felt, It was without a doubt the funnest frost dk i ever played. I thought for the first time that it was actually going to finally get good and come out the gutter. But then they gutted icecap in half
I wouldve taken literally any damage compromises from SL to DF if it meant i could keep that awesome pillar every 25s-35s icecap with obliteration
And damage compromise we would because i would start stacking crit and haste LOL
Blood is the only fun DK spec now. Only fun b/c of the cheat death cheese we have.
Idk. Feels like we need to put a lot of effort just to keep aggro and not die due to all the resource management.
Chillstreak actually felt comparable to other 30-45s CD abilities for those 1-2 weeks on PTR. Shame it didn’t make it through.
You say that but I don’t think so. On the PvE side, 2s Icecap already puts Pillar in the 30~35s effective CD range; that gives 12 crits on the low end. 4s drops it to about 10-12~.
The damage nerf - which would be solely focused on Frostreaper because that’s the only spot there’s any damage left - would be pretty big, considering how often Enduring Strength would roll over into the next Pillar, how often Frostwhelp’s Mastery buff would be up, and how often Bonegrinder’s 20% would be up.
And with all of that taken into consideration, there’d be a sizeable hit to Frostreaper and likely even worse hits to PvP Frost.
