The tuning this season is starting to make sense.
I believe blizzard’s logic was based around having a buffvoker/augmentation in the DPS comp.
Keys are running more smoothly now. But there are some tiny issues.
The biggest issue is that it doesn’t seem like all healers are benefiting the same way from the aug voker buff, in terms of their DPS output in runs. Holy pally’s are the clear winner. In 23s-24s it appears that resto druids and shammy’s aren’t really seeing the same type of increase in DPS. Especially in pugs.
Are holy pally’s that much better or is the synergy of some classes lacking with augment?

Holy pally is just better for HPs. For dps most healers are still higher than pally outside blessing of summer. Besides healer dps is not important this season. It’s all about hps and utility.
Check out some of the streamers posting about 70-80k dps overall as hpal. Thats a meaningful difference over 20k

That’s the aug buff and blessing of summer. I’ve seen Rsham get over 80k in the right groups. Just about comp and skill.
You need to ask that shammy to log, because the next closest rsham to a hpal in a freehold in logs is more than 50k lower overall. 44 vs. 97k. Preversation is more than 40k under the top hpal. Logs also track dps averaged over the whole length of the run, which is diff than details. So, in details they would be higher, but the rsham wouldn’t be at 80k.
Also, fyi, the hpal’s blessing of summer is primarily on the mage for this run.
A healer doing 70-80k DPS is flat-out stupid.

Holy Pal is getting smacked pretty good tomorrow, but is still slated to be the best viable healer in M+.
I hope to see the offensive part of their kit dropped to be equal to other healer counterparts.
It’s a combination of H Pals doing too much damage and some heal specs need more damage buffs post 10.1.7. Resto Druids basically got gutted.
The aug meta is kind of busted atm.
Healers don’t need damage buffs…obviously only my opinion and all but healers should not be DPSing and M+ should not be designed around it. At best they should add only a small amount of DPS that would only matter at the very highest of difficulty levels. 70-80k is getting close to the territory of replacing an actual DPS which is just nonsensical in the context of this game.

The Healing nerfs make more sense now. They knew what Augies were gonna do overall and they got us ready for it. Everything is much smoother now.
BUT Hpal is on its own, outside the intended design here. Just too strong, but there will always be one spec that is this way. Enjoy it while it lasts.
hpal feels a little button cluttered compared to the BFA hpal everyone loved, but yes. I think it’s still number one after the heavy nerfs. I think the next move is to buff other healers and their dps.
no it’s not. the dps who play with those kinds of healers are doing 300k+ overall. it’s still not comparable.

Correct, I think the argument is that a priest/rdruid/rshammy in that same run with the same pulls is doing 25-50k. Pending the player.
After a week of watching this tuning I think the solution is buffing other healers damage. I think hpal is nerfed enough. They got penalized with button bloat this season anyways.

One thing I noticed in logs is Hpals literally need to just do half as many casts as other healers just to keep the group alive on healing intensive fights like NL worm. Literally 20-30 Holy Shock/Word of Glorys each for 180-200k a cast where I have to do 2-3 times as many casts.

sounds like they need to nerf all healers by 25% again
blizz knows exactly what they are doing, imagine having such control over your drug supply that you can drop the dosage by 5% and sell them a whole new drug to compensate, meanwhile the regulars keep buying cause they’ll get high even if it were 20% dilluted despite never having a 20% increase in their dosage they keep paying, but more cause they like the hit rather than the intensity of the hit.
Shrinkflation has been a thing for a very long time.
Give me 3 DPS who can pump and I don’t care what spec they are.
AUG is overrated.
