On Tuesday I am getting an Alienware 32 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3225QF
I have a 4080 video card.
Should I use an HDMI 2.1 or DP cable for best results?
I have read like 20 articles and I still don’t know which is better for this setup.

im running 2.1 on a 3090 so far no issues on this monitor. hdmi 2.1 bandwith is faster but i read it has issues on the 40 series? give it a try so far mine is at 240 and gsync and 4k
Due to the bandwidth limitations of the DP 1.4a port, you’ll want to use the HDMI 2.1 port. The 2.1 should allow you to max out all of the features at the same time and by that, I mean you’ll be able to display at 4k 240hz +hdr +vrr. If you want all those features, but on a DP 1.4a port, you’d probably be limited to 120hz.
Short version: Use the HDMI 2.1 port and make sure you have the correct level cable to do it. If it’s an older or cheaper cable, it will limit you.
