Downloading from curseforge

I want to do my first download of someone else’s addon. I did my own “hello world” type addon a while back with tons of help from people here but I’ve never downloaded a public addon.

I was thinking of trying Hekili from Curseforge.

I notice that there is a Curseforge Download App. Does that sound like the way to start? When I do it gives choices:

  • Download on Overwolf
  • Download standalone
  • More download options.

I’m not sure what Overwolf is or what downloading standalone means? Which is a better choice?

Edit: Got it working. I’ve loaded the loader, loaded Hekili and it’s teaching me rotations. Thanks :slight_smile:

The standalone client is just the addon manager. The Overwolf client has a bunch more bloatware.

That said, I’d recommend the Curseforge version of https://wowup.io/ over either of them.
