Downloading and updating Addons for WoW Classic using the Twitch App

So am trying to get my add ons downloaded and updated before the servers go live. However, I cannot seem to find an option for WoW Classic on the Twitch App. How are add ons going to work with WoW Classic?

Also what are some of the essential add ons for Classic?

There’s a drop down to select which game install you want to use. If you select get more add ons it seems to load just the retail add ons. I know a lot of them work for classic so I’m not sure if the list is filtered by what will actually work in classic or not.

add ons are kinda iffy right now for what works and doesnt from beta. I would honestly wait a bit for them to sort themselves out rather then risking a dc and relog at launch.

Been doing it the old fashioned way (like in vanilla times, lol)
Manually install them…

Willitclassic has a nice list

Yes as mentioned there is a drop down menu - mine wasn’t showing so I had to do the add game thing just to the right of that.

2/3 that I downloaded are showing on my classic character selection screen as being ok to go - one just updated a few days ago is showing out of date.

I just did a quest helper and a vendor addon so I can see the vendor price without going to a vendor.

My suggestion is to manually download any addons you don’t already have, at Curseforge. Use the Twitch app to keep them up to date. When at Curseforge be sure you use the drop down client version selector and select 1.13.x. Also if you use wowinterface for addons you can use Minion client to keep those up to date.

There are no ‘essential’ addons, the game is perfectly playable ‘out of the box’.

There are actually some major differences between Classic and retail. At the very least I suggest Cast Bar Addons to have visual cues of your cooldowns. This could be essential because mismanagement could result in loss of dps output. There are already a few that work with Classic. Do some research man! YouTube is valuable resource.

Debatable, I hate the blizzard action bars

I mean it’s literally the easiest option, right? Drag and drop? Haha

Twitch - Mods - World of Warcraft, Click on Gear to Right, Add a Game, find the classic folder for your installed game. You will need to change the drop down and be careful about selecting addons that actually support classic (via reading the name if it supports both or looking at game version 1.13.2). If you select actually supported addons, twitch should work. But classic addon authors may not all be supporting curse, in which case you may need to find and install them manually anyway.

I will be trying out DBM Classic 1.13.2 and AdvancedInterfaceOptions (which seemed to work during the load test).

I tried addons yesterday and was constantly experiencing .lua errors. Trying to find simple addons that work like dbm, threat meter, swing timer, atlas loot, and questing. Also would like to figure out how to stop the lua errors from popping up.
