Downloading 16,4 GB for next patch!

So much data is downloaded to my computer for the next patch!
I am pretty sure one of the DEV is saving his Samantha Fox collection to my computer! (pictures, posters, various prints,…) The 80’s FTW!

And we needed another thread on the “top/first” page for this why?

Because for a patch that is adding a few hunter pets and some class changes, there’s no reason for it to be nearly the size of a whole expansion.

Dont worry mister Mooriartee, my posts always get forgotten within minutes! It was just a way for me to talk about Samantha Fox!
/MOo…

Maybe they are preloading the Kul’Tiran Allied Race ahead of 8.2. That would be a Hefty amount of data and some rather Large files for a patch with that much Meat to it.

You are not funny, Kul’Tiran are nice people! Seriously, i think the 16 GB is the amount of power the Zandalari Paladins get from the Light!

:thinking::thinking::thinking::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Maybe the 16 GB is the new Worgen model and skin? Maybe you will get updated too Caelus!

Or maybe Blizzard is downloading programs to farm bitcoins on each of our computer… or they are running calculations for the SETI program… 16 GB is suspicious!

I wonder its its like they have a 4gig file they make a slight change adding a few hunter pets instead of just downloading the hunter pet files into the 4gig file you are just downloading the whole 4gig file , so maybe the patch is really only 1 gig of new data crammed into 16gig of files

It won’t be too bad, just leaving my PC on while at work to download the patch will be good.

It’s not that bad, considering there are other games that have day one patches the size of the whole game. For example, Fallout 76 was a 45 GB and day one patch forced players to download another 48 GB patch.

Another thing to note, the entire WoW game is taking about 110 GB of space on my pc.

I hear ya! I lived through the 1980s as a young man and it was a fun time. Aside from the sabre rattling between the US and the USSR, a lot more optimistic than the times we live in now.

Mine takes half that. You might want to check your cache folder

Is that the data folder only or could you be pulling in screenies and movies?

I have a ton of screen shots of cool shots I like in this game.

Okay, the numbers being reported are just for the data folder. I too have a lot of screen shots which balloons the total to 96 GB…a good chunk of which is sadly of Gassy using her S.E.L.F.I.E…I’m living the Belf stereotype :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s like extra stuff. Others would be able to explainit better but it’s like keeping a bunch of install files after you’ve already installed them. They just take up space.

And you may have multiple versions.

I joined last summer, so I should really only have the BFA install. My data folder is only around 61GB.

Or that one Tony Hawk Pro Skater game in which the 56 GB launch day patch was literally the entire game. As they had run out of time to complete the game they just finished up and burnt the tutorial to disk. Since the servers are now defunct that makes any DVDs of that particular Tony Hawk game useless drink coasters.
