Dowloader is peaking at 33Kb/s…c’mon, what’s the deal? I have 100g connection, nothing wrong with speed test etc. Download speed in setting adjusted to 99999 and no improvement over no restriction setting.
3hrs for 130MG patch? Sheesh.

Oh ya? Well I have a 101GB connection
Yeah its ridiculously bad today.
Had maybe three weeks of decent speeds, back to terrible patch times and opening bnet hours before raid
I had an issue with battle.net installing an update.
Tried changing the speeds, tried running as administrator. Nothing worked.
I decided to uninstall all my addon services, all game handling services. Nothing helped.
I made the ABSOLUTELY STUPID decision to uninstall wow and battle.net to see if having a fresh download would help.
Now the download speeds are no more than 500KB/s and i clock my download speeds at over 300mb/s on multiple speed testing websites.
Now, the cherry on top is that every once in a while, it will spike to 20mb/s and sit for like 5 minutes, then go back to 200KB/s. I swear they do it just to piss me off.
Yes I have had this issue as well but also random disconnects or lagging in the game. (you notice you can’t interact with anything and if you are lucky it rewinds your movements about 60-90 seconds.) I will say the updating issues with BNet have been getting worse and worse. I have gig speed everywhere else so I’m not sure what the issue is.
I have been waiting almost 30 mins? on a Friday eve? What is the deal… we already had 2 updates this week and now just waiting and waiting to play? Why is this so slow!
Rather than setting a max speed, try to simply uncheck the speed requirement line. My computer downloads beautifully , but the initialization takes a long time. It could be your problem.
I’ve tried all that and more over the last 6+ months and no help. Whether I leave it at 0 for unlimited or 9999 like some have suggested, or anything in between it will start off at that speed for maybe 100MB then slow to a crawl for a long time. If it says the update is 350MB (megabytes) which should take a little under 3.5 minutes on my connection, it might run full speed for maybe 150MB, then drop to 15-50Kbps and suddenly that 3.5 minutes turns into over an hour. Sometimes pausing then un-pausing will make it take off full speed again but it will usually go right back to Kbps and back to that hour download instead of a couple minutes. The just does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to this.
This isn’t an initialization issue. It actually says downloading and has a speed of about 20kbps (yep 36k LESS than an old dial-up modem (well a good one back in the day) Switching wifi, changing routers, rebooting all the things I own, (COMP, Router, Modem, access point, my roomba what ever the flip I could take off the network just in case) made no difference. I even tethered to the phone just to change internet sources with no joy. (Full disclosure they are both AT&T(cell and fiber)) So I suppose it could be possible that a router in my major metro area for that provider that they foolishly use for cell and home internet could be the issue but… I doubt it.
If any update gets stuck, I close Bnet, close all Bnet Agent.exe processes, then reopen the Bnet client. Never got stuck for longer than 5mins except during DDoS attacks (not an issue atm thankfully).
Im having the same issue. I uninstalled wow and battle.net
When I tried to reinstall battle.net it took forever even tried ending the processes in task manager when nothing happened after 20 minutes…download goes super quick when first restarting battle.net but then comes to a very slow craw…
I see many people mentioning these issues, I even tried on a sperate computer same issue.
I do think this is on Blizzard’s end
Are you on AT&T also?
nope
With the amount of people complaining in the different threads about the slow downloads i really think this is on blizz
for me this started with this new patch
Battle.net always saying when i launch it detects a new verison etc
And again same thing happens on a different computer that has a fresh install of windows no addons etc
I tried to test it out. Removed Bnet, redownloaded, reinstalled. I didn’t run into any slow speeds, so I’m wondering if everyone having an issue is connecting through a common point. Many ISPs share the larger backbones of the internet. My area doesn’t even offer AT&T, only Charter and Frontier.
did you actually try a full uninstall, not just click uninstall then go re-download it but kill any proccesses, delete the folders etc
I reinstalled Bnet only, but I deleted the directories, the registry keys, everything.
The files for Bnet and patches come from the same server.
hmm not sure why it works for you and not others, but just cause it is working for you doesnt mean something isnt wrong somewhere on blizzards end
Sure, but since we’re all downloading patches/software from the same place, seems doubtful.
I’ll check with my resources during business hours to see if there’s any suspected causes of this.
