Classic is hard mode.

Some people were saying it earlier that they thought Ony might go down quickly after Rag did. Looks like they was right.

As I said in another thread - speed running retro games is kind of a thing right now in the gaming world. And classic WoW’s kind of a retro game. Good on Apes though.

Correct. Played it back then, and it remains the same: very tedious. Some people think tedious is difficult though.

Classic and Retail are two totally different games (polar opposites in a lot of ways). Classic for me was always about the journey.

I keep leveling on my shaman and as long as I wait for mana to come back its very easy. people think its “hard” or something to wait 30 seconds before pulling. that’s not really difficult or anything.

I say tedious is an overstatement given how quickly it’s gone down week one.

Tedious can be used for many things. Slow isn’t the only one. Dull and tiresome are also words used involving tedium. Personally, I find Classic to be all of the above. However, as mentioned earlier, APES was a private server guild and did this same route for over five years.

And that’s not to take away from their achievement / accomplishment. Good on them. Much like most speed runners, they are practiced in their craft and knowledgeable. But it doesn’t change the fact that the game play isn’t the most intuitive. And that’s admitted by the devs as well, considering they themselves had no idea what they were doing and just knew (as per that little video with Jeff Kaplan and them) that they just wanted to make something great.

What is method doing now

trying to poach some people from apes, lul

At least Nefarian will take awhile, right? Gotta get those cloaks.

Actually they probably have a strat to down Nefarian with like… two characters living in phase 2.

Because the guides to those raids have been available for 15 years. Why is anyone surprised that the content is being cleared quickly?

Because people were crying high and low that Classic is going to be the death of Retail because so much harder and challenging which will make Clsssic relevant for months to years.

It’s not shocking considering the mechanics are really, really simple by comparison to just about anything in current WoW. And it is 15 year old content, so there’s plenty of information out there for people to work with.

At least for me, I thought people would be spending weeks getting +Fire Resist (this can be cheesed). I thought it was going to take weeks to get enough AQ (I was remembering the requirement to get a PERMANENT AQ, not a single-use).

The +FR should have been a 2-3 week hard time gate… and since they cheesed it, that really changed the game.

Other than that, nothing about this surprises me. MC was never hard AS A RAID. The hard part was: getting 40 people, who were sober, who weren’t busy sexting each other, who were paying attention, who didn’t just want to be carried, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc…

These first few guilds are going to DESTROY MC because you have 40 ppl who ACTUALLY WANT TO WIN! The output from that kind of focus is hard to overstate.

Come back and see me in 8 months when you have more raids of people who aren’t showing up, have players that don’t want to be there, have new members who just want to be carried, etc etc etc…

People don’t change.

So here we have OP making fun of players, meanwhile he’s never done any raiding or pvp himself. gg

Sometimes it’s best to try and not make fun of others, OP.

Post on you main or GTFO

Masked profanity isn’t cool, OP.

Pot meet Kettle

Pot meet kettle? Wanna quote me where I was making fun of players real quick?

You mean this?
