Double the raid loot for 20th Anniv. realms

20th Anniversary realms need more loot to compensate for the shorter timeline. Vanilla WoW was 25 months and Classic was 22 months. The current timeline is going to be 15 months max, possibly even shorter if TBC launches in Winter 2025.

A lot of guilds struggled with BWL in Classic despite having 5 months to prepare. It’ll be more difficult this time due to the scarcity of loot, and a lot of people will quit when their guild either can’t clear BWL at all or can’t clear BWL + MC in a single night. As the raids get harder it will only get worse.

Not to mention how discouraging it will be for players who have zero hope of getting the most sought-after items because they’re on the bottom of the loot prio list. Single-night clears of multiple raids were already too difficult for many guilds to manage last time, and with even less loot it will be harder. This will only exacerbate the loot scarcity issue.

Either increase the loot drops or I’ll be back here saying “I told you so” in 6 months.

Will gearing be an issue for all classes? Or is it mostly a warrior/mage problem because there’s so many?

I only really raided in classic in SoM and I think that had increased loot.

Either way, I think increasing drops would make sense to do with the expedited timeline, but we’ll see.

It will be an issue for everyone but especially bad for popular classes.

And it will snowball as the raids get harder. Guilds will definitely fall apart due to loot starvation.

Vanilla gearing has only ever been a problem for warrior/mage/rogue.

Every other class has a streamlined gearing experience lmao

Definitely not true, especially if you have healers who want gear for PvP.

Agreed :100:
Double loot from all raids is a must since we’ll have half of the original timeline.

This is entirely needed. I get that its for the warriors and mages of the world, or melee and casters in general, but without it a lot of people are just going to stop playing very quickly. I appreciate the fast cadence of raids just supplement it with another 2 to 3 items per boss.

And honestly, do the same with crafting mats (cores, elementium ore, word of tahwing, scraps, etc). Its gonna be just as needed (at least most of those)

If they plan on progressing to TBC in early 2026 then yes, double the raid loot would be extremely helpful. It’s a combination of half as many total raid lockouts combined with the fact that vanilla raid loot will be made obsolete in a little over 1 year.

You don’t stop raiding MC when new raids come out. More loot is not needed.

The only possible bottleneck I see is not having enough Onyxia cloaks for BWL when it launches. So some people will end up having to abuse the bug in that fight to dodge the shadowflame.

But even that might not be an issue. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Would also like to see them not be duplicates of something that is dropping. Not very exciting to see Venderstrike x2.

I hear you about the shorter timeline, and on paper what you’re requesting is not unreasonable.

However… anniversary realms are a temporary phase that will be forced into the TBC expansion- so you really shouldn’t take gear-grinding at 60 too seriously.

Just start saving gold for your epic flyer at 70. It’s a TBC waiting room.

thats half of what it is. The other half is vanilla, which some people enjoy, even on an expedited timeline.

Two things can be true.

Its true you do older raids with new content (which happened before as well), however it still doesnt take into account the expedited timeline and unreasonably small amount of loot per boss (which, lets be honest, even with regular cadence is grueling at times)
