Double blink, alter time twice?

Hey all.

I had no idea where to post this, I’m thinking here is the best place. I’m about to come across as an complete noob so, brace yourselves and, sorry in advance :grimacing:

So my issue is shimmer and alter time. I find with the key press I shimmer twice in a row unless I very consciously and quickly tap the keybind. Alter time is the same. I will alter then nearly immediately it’s as if I’ve pressed the button to return early. Twice fighting a rogue and once a feral I thought “do they have a dispel now?”

What it reminds me of is the old consoles with “turbo” controllers.

I’ve tried different keys and different mouse buttons but, this doesn’t seem to help. In pvp it’s a tad bit of a nightmare if I blow 2 shimmers at once or return early with alter time.

Is there an option in game or perhaps a windows setting that can stop this from happening or, is it like this for everyone? I realise the gcd is most likely shorter for both spells (I think it is?) but, surely not that shorter that I’m pressing it for too long and it’s sending it off twice?

Any help would really be appreciated

Two solutions:

  1. Make sure you don’t have “Hold to Cast” enabled/turned on
  2. Create a basic cast sequence macro that stops the sequence upon a single key press.

Either one of these should fix your issue - #2 is the method I use.
