Dose Q'ing for Mythic 0 and M+ need to be reworked?

I am posting this here cause it am not so much making an outright suggestion as i am wanting to have a discussion about the system it’s self because it has many flaws as i see it.

First flaw I see is how many people are selling runs not within the game for gold but from some website for money. I am seeing this more and more I feel like there needs to be sometype of auto flagging system that is triggered by key words. It is annoying as is trying to find the group you want sometimes and having to slog through ads basically is annoying.

Second is I feel like there needs be some sore of auto system for M0 and +. On my DK with an iLvL of 171 no matter how many groups I apply for i never get accepted even though atm i am only applying for 0’s. And on my frost mage 184 iLvL no matter what group i apply for no one seems to want to accept me that would actually give an upgrade.

Yes I know i can make my group and have done when i feel up to it. But with that said if everyone made new groups then no group would ever fill out if you know what i mean. I am so bloody sick of this. It seems like people want 190iLvL for a dungeon that drops 184. Dosen’t make much sense dose it? So what are yalls thought on it? Dose something need to be done and what? Or do you think it is fine as is?

I would 150% never do a M+ again if I had to run augmented stat content with increased mechanics with whatever people Blizzard threw at me.

There should be a random mythic que for 0’s. It’s dumb that there isnt

No they definitely shouldn’t. You actually have to do mechanics and do more then click one button.

I agree for at least M0. Makes sense as a road of progression for casual players. Normal heroic mythic then lfr.

Not necessarily saying get rid of the current system… But something need to be done to make it easier to pick up groups.

Not for mythic 0s. At 180 ilevel they are just as easy as heroics.

I am not gonna take the word of someone that barely times 2’s telling me M0’s are so easy they can be in the group finder que system.

I mean, you already answered your own problem in your original post. You will always be in every group you ever make–if you don’t want to do that, you’re at the mercy of whomever is making the group. I’ve been a DPS main before, I know exactly how crappy it feels to app to groups and get eternally declined–which is why I either always ran my own groups, or in the case of SL just run as a tank or healer most of the time.

Im not the one failing 2’s.

You’re playing DPS.

There are roughly a hundred thousand DPS applying to a group for every tank or healer.

You’re going to face a lot of rejection. You chose to play the most overpopulated role in the game. That’s not a “flaw in the system,” that’s how basic supply and demand works. Deal with it.

Tanks get rejected all time. It not just dps.

  1. Whether people like or agree with it, a lot of people use raiderio when assembling a m+ group. If you don’t have a decent total score and/or good key(s) completion for the dungeon you’re signing up for it’ll be tough to get into groups.

  2. If you ever do make a group for a M+ you will get inundated with dps. Dozens will sign up. Often times you don’t get outright denied (does happen) but it’s more that other people are being picked and then the group is full.

  3. The group might be an armor stack group for loot trading.

  4. The group leader may want a certain comp for a certain dungeon and your class doesnt fit for them

  5. While item level can help, there may be a certain bias (unfair or not) towards certain classes and/or specs in M+ dungeons, in general or for specific ones.

  6. While 184 item level is an appropriate item level for lower keys, once you start climbing a bit, the higher dungeons will have people queueing that are 5-10+ item levels higher than you. As a group leader, would you want a insert class here that is ilvl 195 or the one that is 5-10 levels lower?

Best ways to improve ability to get in groups:

  1. join a guild
  2. run with friends (or make some in game)
  3. look around on the in game community finder
  4. make a post in the appropriate section on the wow forums
  5. look around discord. I am pretty certain there are a ton of m+ community servers
  6. make your own groups with your key.
  7. Build your “resume” up. Run and time every dungeon a time or two on +2-3. Then run them all on +4-5, etc…

They cannot create an automated system for this and expect it to run unattended. But they haven’t even tried. They announced many months before shadowlands release that they were dealing with the issue by creating a new system, and what did we get? They removed the ability of sub 50 players to use the group finder to create or join groups. Nothing else has changed.

The current system involves players reporting violations in the group finder. The listings they report automatically are removed from their view for the remainder of the play session. But nothing else happens. Everyone else can still see those ads, and the violator continues to post unhindered.

What needs to happen is for a low level employee to follow up on reports as they come in and create filters to semi-automate reporting through the use of keywords. The system could be designed so the ad would disappear from everybody’s view but the violator’s, so he wouldn’t actually know his ads had been removed from view.

Go jump on a tank spec and tell me how long it takes to find an appropriate group compared to DPS.

It’s common advice because it works very reliably.

I have never been declined as a tank when I apply as a 196 geared blood dk that being said I also dont apply for content more than 3 keystone levels higher than my previous best for that dungeon, and usually not more than 2 higher than my overall best timed key.

As a 195 geared frost/unholy dk I get skipped by about 60% of groups I apply for in the 5-8 range.

how about you dont be a prick? How is your comment even useful? You can’t know how good someone is based on their iLvL. I have out dpsed a Shadow priest on my prot pally in a heroic who had the same iLvL and that should never happen. So please actually try to contriute to the convo or don’t bother posting.

I mean if it was just that i’d be happy. Cause it introduces you to the new mechanics with very little increase in difficulty. It would also allow casuals to do the weekly quest if its for mythics easier.

M0’s are so easy they can be in the group finder que system

I’ve seen the quality of player in the group finder system and I can confidently say: No they can’t. Not unless you overgear the hell out of them.
