So I have given this some time and figured I’d make a post about it now. Is there any chance they are going to let me transmog the stupid looking offhand for the Doomhammer into anything else so I can use the mog I had throughout all of Legion? Or was all that work unlocked the mage tower, pvp and balance of power skins just a waste of my time?
Not wasted, because you still have the skin.
Thing is, the only skins I seem to be able to apply are the basic and competed campaign skins, hidden appearances PvP etc. Aren’t transmogrification options which make the grind for them feel slightly wasted
Hopefully Blizz will come around and change this eventually. I really like a lot of the Doomhammer skins, but most of the offhands are pretty lackluster. Maybe it’s just me, but I think the default offhand is actually the best looking one (for offhands). I would love to be able to just use double Doomhammer, or some other random offhand. I think most classes have a similar ask regarding artifact appearances. Plenty of prot pallys that want to use just the shield, or just the flail, as an example.
Another pie in the sky tmog wish I have is to remove the level restriction. I don’t really see the downside to having a level 40 character using a mog from a level 120 item. Assuming you earned the mog on another character, I’d like it to be available.
I would like the option to mix OH too. I like the idea of using the campaign skin (blue) to show the lightning effect of using SS, with the fire of the base skin in the OH, to show it’s for LL.
I would like to ratchet this request one notch higher and allow either the main hand or the offhand part in any of the artifact appearances for Doomhammer to be cloned it to the other hand or mixed freely with anything else in either hand.
Imagine wielding dual electricity axes!
Oddly enough… My fury warrior can choose to transmog the offhand into an artifact weapon, but leave the main weapon free to do whatever.

Observe as her main hand weapon is the scythe from argus, and her offhand is the artifact weapon. Isn’t exactly what you are after… but, warriors can do it.
Well, the fact I can’t transmog the Doomhammer in my main and whatever in my offhand makes even less sense to me now. I’m glad Warriors aren’t stuck under such a strange restriction.
I can’t do that on my warrior either. This trick only works to change the offhand into a “main hand” weapon. If I try it with the main hand slot, the artifact weapon will override all xmog on the offhand.
Unfortunately, all attempts to replicate this effect have been met with sadness and more sadness on the shaman.
I mogged over my doomhammer immediately after getting it. Still using my favorite mace mog.
