I quote…
‘ We have no plans to delete Season of Discovery characters or to shut down the SoD realms. We plan to continue supporting them, and we’re hard at work on everything else that’s coming … Soon™’

They talked about what was coming for two seconds, and didn’t show or say anything new. Also didn’t announce classic +, which is what we were all hoping SoD was leading to. Doesn’t matter if they delete sod or not if they have yet to really release any original content. All they’ve done is copy paste zones / boss encounters so far, and that isn’t really what we signed up for.
Real mystery why people are losing faith when the phase releases we have gotten have been mirrors of normal vanilla with minor tweaks to the raid. There was an expectation of new content and there has been minimal messaging on what or when that is coming.
Doomers claim that SoD realms will be shut down or erased. Yes it’s a project that has a few broken parts or missing pieces, but that’s not the point of the quote. Why spin it into such?
I just hope they add more incursions for phase 6 and 7.
It doesn’t seem like it takes them much effort or money for them to keep servers up, that’s not something I personally was very concerned about. It’s seasonal, I honestly went into it expecting it to be deleted at some point anyways, so doesn’t personally matter to me.
Psst.
Things haven’t always gone as planned.
A promise would have been better. Plans changing is a pretty easy cop out when the time comes.
Aggrend also tweeted a lot of stuff coming for SOD and future was bright.
They should have put an arrow next to SOD on the Classic Roadmap or something. Made things look gloomy for SOD, when they are not at all.
A long discussion on it in the Warcraft Direct would have helped a lot also.
