Doomed to be stuck at 405 item lvl forever?

I play solo most of the time and mainly pvp random bg’s and such. I don’t belong to a guild so mythic BoD will probably never happen. So my only choice for gear above 400-410 is mythics above +11 and yet as an arms warrior or even fury i’ll que up for dozens of +10 and ups and either get instantly declined or left to sit in que and ponder to myself, will i ever be accepted for who i am and why don’t these damn Cheetos finger coated nerds not want a big tuff warrior to play with them? I do above average dmg for arms and have really good situational awareness (as any decent pvp player would) so i rarely die unless its a full wipe. So is the secret to just have higher lvl friends that are willing to put up with you and bring you along to +11’s +12’s and so on. if that’s the case I’m screwed :frowning:

side note what friends should make in order to succeed in 3’s?

If you indeed have good situation awareness, slap a shield on and go tank. Everyone want prot warrior in M+ and as a dps player, you will love the amount of damage you do as prot.

If you play solo, and want to do more, play fotm, get some friends, get a guild, or have more patience.

Why are you sad though? Only 3 common tiers of gearscore are left now in BFA.
Like 2% of the population are hovering between 415-20. This is very hard to get to even if you luck out on TF since 415 will be the most common level. 420+ is for M+ .01% players who run 50+ runs a week of M+, and even then, I haven’t see anyone near 425 cap yet.
Then it slowly breaks down to 410-415, then the rest are 400-410.
You won’t see 385-400 in the queue competition against you since they are either alts or the players don’t want to step into M+10 for free gear.

So you are in a good place tbh.
You are only behind 5-10 ilvl in the next group, and the other group is too far ahead for most of the population that it really doesn’t matter if you are comparing ilvl with them or not.

I have heard good things about prot, but i’ve had this guy since vanilla and i’ve never once used him to tank. never saw the fun it, just a necessary evil to progress the higher end content as a warrior. maybe i’ll have to give it a shot

He specifically asked about what friends he should make. And it’s a fair point, you are in for a very rough time if you’re going to solo play one of the less utilized specs. You can’t succeed as a dps warrior right now without either being part of a team or having an outstanding amount of patience. I don’t see the problem with letting him know point blank that there isn’t a magic bullet to fix the issues he’s having.

Tanking as prot is really fun. You control the pace, you do ton of damage, its super interactive.
Give it a shot.

If you want to raid/m+, stop playing arms. It just isn’t going to get you there this tier.

Best best for keys is always to run your own till you have a decent IO score.

I would say you need a guild so they can allow an arms warrior in runs.

tbh I doubt you will get anything above a 10 without having to pay gold

Run more M+ then 1 or 2 a week, don’t be picky about the dungeon.

Push your own key.

Achieve 410+ ilvl

EDIT: also note, try and get all dungeons cleared in time on atleast a 7 at this point. That will help your IO a bunch and show you are familiar with the dungeon mechanics well enough that you can deal with the affixes on top of them as well.

My guild stopped raiding and doing mythic plus in the middle of uldir. I have been solo ever since.
Life as a dps warrior can be difficult, you will get turned down for mythic plus keystones, pug raids and wipe on easy bosses.
It’s not a good time to be dps warrior. Do I cry about? Nope.
What I do Is clear the first 5-6 bosses on heroic (any bosses after that is not worth the time invested)
Clear minimum first mythic boss (drops nearly all warrior bis and super easy, my grandma can go in and down col)
and I clear +10 mythic every week.
If u can’t join a +10, go and upgrade your own key. Grab food flask pots drums. Be prepared.
I’ve manage to get 415 ilvl just doing this per week. I also average 30k-33k per mythic plus as arms or fury, (groups that remember you perform well will invite u again).
You will not get invite to 15 or higher no matter how well u do cause it’s pug life unless it’s people u know or u roll tank spec.
On weeks like sanguine u will not get invited as melee so I tank those weeks.

Wasnt very hard for me to gear up solo, was it painful? Yes, do u need a guild? No absolutely not.

Every person who has answered here has responded to him with some variation of the same advice - go prot, get a guild/friends, or get over it and be patient. Yet you’ve fixated on Drez for some reason.

Do YOU have some magic advice for pugging M+ as a dps warrior? I’m at 1900 io and even still I’ll tell you the only way I get into a key that will increase my score is by pushing my own key or if friends toss me an invite. It doesn’t get better - the higher you get the harder it gets.
