If all classes get the exact same percentage reduction in damage how in the name of sanity will that fix SOME of the classes being op?
If everyone gets their damage reduced by 25% my rogue will still eat everything alive because while i won’t hit 25% as hard…neither will the person i’m killing. There is no other word for this but STUPID…i wish i could be more kind about it.

It’s most definitely not going to be all classes getting the same % damage reduction.

i can’t say for certain, but i bet you that’s exactly what they do. Just a raw % reduction in pvp damage for all classes.
(Edit: just re-read the blue post. It’s an aura that gives a flat percentage debuff to everyone, i was spot on)
Because the classes that are OP are classes typically easier countered by having healers.
Warlock and Spriest should be able to kill you with just dots, it’s their whole identity. But because they’re creep damage, healers in your group typically serve to counter their kill potential.
All I see are people whining about the total numbers and not how the slower pace of combat itself is going to change the classes.
Yup. Everytime a Spriest killed me I had no group, no heals and no nothing.
Okay so just have a pocket healer follow me around everywhere I go? How do you solve this healer issue realistically? I can’t even get heals in BGs. I’m stumped. I guess everyone just reroll healer?
The idea is that some classes are getting hit so hard they aren’t able to get their damage out and now they will. But yes it isn’t a very good idea because the problem isn’t that classes are too bursty, it’s that everybody wants to be a glass cannon pumper instead of playing a more conservative defensive role.
You’re on the losing end of classic rock-paper-scissors if you genuinely have no way to now out-dps the priest. The issue before was after full dots a class with no heals dies before they can open up. This will no longer be the case. Now you can, a) have a healer in your pvp team, or b) have a more feasible window with which to kill them.
And honestly, yeah, suggesting you keep a healer in your pvp group is totally reasonable. PVP was never balanced around 1v1.
If you were any good at PVP whatsoever this would be immediately apparent.
How come you can’t have a convo without people trashing you and being condescending and passive aggressive?
Honestly just go on ignore too. Good lord. I was about to agree until you just added the passive aggressive line at the end. Honestly screw you people.
What class can I not one shot on my arcane mage?
There’s no defensive role you can play when I can line my cooldowns up in such a way as to 100 to 0 a meta lock pre-soul link nerf.
Nobody, with any kit, should be able to totally KO someone without any potential whatsoever to fight back. The flat damage reduction ensures that.
Don’t come to the forums being passive-aggressive and hyperbolic if you can’t take it dished to you.

Well you certainly can’t one shot a soul linked lock, especially with felhunter or felguard.
I disagree – especially if you run a glass cannon build where everything kills you quickly. It just shouldn’t be insta cast and spammable, and should require a crit. That’s always been a thing.
why not? it’s the easiest, laziest thing for them to do
and that’s their track record

I dont think OP understands how math works, maybe i could help him out.
Damage reductions unlike hp/stam increases are significantly more impactful in group pvp. Meaning every ability on you is now reduced. Meaning youll live longer. Meaning you can cast your spells and run your damage before you get blown up, because you cant be killed as quickly now.
This is going to benefit the classes that rely on sustained fights and not quick ones. Healers, tanks, melee. Meanwhile nerfing ones that need quick kill or they lose otherwise. For example, mana classes, cooldown orienated, and stunlock classes.
Meta locks, way of earth shammy, any healers, warriors, big winners. Enhance shaman with earth shield too.

Your example isn’t true. If someone lives through that initial opening the rogue’s life gets much harder.
Mostly because it leaves room for people to outplay you.
…and another one was born.
But the person you’re killing is dead before your stun lock is over so how are you taking 25% more damage?
Like pallies can bubble for 6 sec and then stun for 5 seconds. No one can survive that. Maybe now we’ll be able to
The damage reduction in PVP isn’t supposed to be for balance between classes, it’s just supposed to lower the TTK so everyone isn’t dying instantly and healers can be a little more useful.
Healing will not get nerfed. It will give healers a chance. You might even see more healers return to BG’s.
