Don't want to get banned for an Exploit

I haven’t played in a long time and started a new character, shaman. I’m lvl 36 and my Mining is at 130.
I was mining some tin and I was flying on my mount and all the sudden I was hovering and clicked on a node and started mining it, while I WAS MOUNTED, and flying.

Something didn’t seem right so I did it a few more times to see if that was just a bug or not and it kept repeating.

So, is this a Bug ? I don’t have any max level characters because I read something about mining knowledge or something allowing you to spec into mounted mining. I haven’t done any of that ever. Don’t even know what that is really. Haven’t gotten there yet.

Don’t want to get banned or something for doing this so I’m here to see if it’s a bug or something.

I know you can mine whilst mounted through the DF and TWW profession knowledge tree talent system. But I’m not aware of anything that allows mining whilst mounted from expacs prior to DF. Unless they applied the DF and TWW stuff retroactively?

Edit: Legion/BfA had a BS consumable you could use to allow mounted mining for a limited time I think. But that’s about it.

I have all the Expacks and I’m not using any Items or anything. I can just hover over nodes and mine.
I’m in Stranglethorn Vale doing it. I mean I stopped to ask here but, that’s where it happened.
