Dont think im getting the AV ram mount

I love the anniversary mounts and i can grind stuff out, but getting into an AV over and over and having NPCs already dead which means you cant do any of the quests , then leaving, getting the 15 mins debuff only to get into another AV where the NPCs are dead, yea no thanks, thats not really fun imo

At least Alliance has it easy with our 2 minute queues. I can get into an AV, see we’re losing, afk out, eat the deserter, re-queue, and still get into another AV before the horde get into their first one.

Just keep trying. I was getting in a few that were all ready half way through, and just kept leaving and taking the debuff. I eventually would get in at the start, and run for the ram quests. Do those, then leave. Wait for debuff, rinse/repeat.

Still have awhile on it, hang in there!

Edit: I usually stay until end, even after rams run out [you do get a tad extra for winning/loosing and turn ins]
but others say fastest is to leave after, so just noting it that way. You’ll find what works best for you.

Just mercenary queue as horde

What do you want a Battleground mount if you have no interest in enjoying the battleground for its PvP?

They screwed up how you get the PvP mount in a big way imo. Should’ve been an honor related quest like obtain 2k honor from AV rather then get timewalking badges from non-PvP activities. You get honor for everything in AV so makes more sense where as if you aren’t in AV from the start you get almost no badges.

The problem with the timewalking quests is if you get into an already started AV you get nothing unless you want to slog through mines since the wolf/ram quest is probably finished being that it is faster then mines for badges. That first GY boss is probably already dead, towers are probably taken, mines might also be taken and wolves/rams are probably full. If you leave to get into another one then you have to figure is the AV you’re in at the moment going to last longer then the 15min debuff for leaving.

If you get into an already started AV try the wolf/ram quest, make sure you have all the quests at base for next AV, and figure out if the AV you’re in is going to last longer then your 15min debuff for leaving. Otherwise slog through it. It’s more fun AFTER you get the wolf/ram mount.

Good luck!

P.S. “Reminds me of my days in Alterac. My long, long days in Alterac.” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Her quote fits now, lol.

I think the main issue people have with it is that you have to go into AV and do everything but PvP, it’s awfully slow and the regular BG people hate it because half of the team is running around doing little quests for the mount and they’re getting smashed by the horde.

I wish Blizzard would think these things through more, instead of just being focused on how much played time they can milk out of the event, they should be asking themselves “Is this fun?” and “Is this disruptive to normal game play?”

Isn’t mercenary available for horde only?
Its one of those “horde bias” things /sarcasm

Isn’t it a rendition of Vanilla?

Makes sense the mount is tedious and annoying to get.

Gotta be honest though, I would have liked it better if it had to do with kills or objective captures rather than pseudo-questing inside the BG

Horde winning AV, thought I would never live to see it.

Must be the infinite dragonflight’s doing.

Srsly this!

So tired of the mine farmers and ram farmers

Do you guys seriously enjoy the thought of looking through your mount tab and seeing the the new AV ran/wolf mount and think to yourself “ahh yes my celebratory battleground mount that I received for abandoning my comrades and leaving them to die and fight for me to collect scraps in pve”.

If it were up to me anyone who receives the mount this way (without burning towers, killing guards, taking gys) would get it revoked and a ban on the event until it’s over.

It’s a pvp event. Not your carebear pve “+1 to muh mount collection lolz”.

Many of us have waited years for this and the previously mentioned crowd and some of the people commenting here are ruining it for us.

The OP is complaining that it’s not an easier grind, and that to overcome some of the “issues” with it, they game the system and make the experience a bad one for those looking to actually enjoy AV for it’s PvP, not that the PvP isn’t a well thought out experience.

BTW, I got my Frostwolf mount over 10 years ago by completing the reputation requirements for actually completing AV quests and winning matches. I don’t have much sympathy for PvE mount farmers in Battlegrounds.

Well, this is what threw me off about it at first. I went in expecting to do all pvp related things [killing horde, capping towers, killing their leaders, etc]. I was completely thrown off by having to go tame a ram or go into a mine to collect boxes, but once I did
it sped things way up.

From what I’m reading, this was how it was though [back then]? If so, would probably make sense this is why they are doing it that way. It would seem to be kind of a backfire
I would think they’d give more reward for sticking it through to the end, rather than collecting some rams and leaving.

The original AV could last for hours so it wasn’t that unreasonable to go do these quests while engaged in the content. And along the way PvP would happen, because each team wanted to prevent the other from completing these quests.

These days, each team just tries to brute force a win by bypassing as many defenses as possible and killing the main bosses. Teams don’t bother defending because the strategies employed by both teams really just rely on who can grind to the end the fastest.

I feel you I won’t be getting the av Horde Mount either, but I have the original Frostwolf howler which I think looks better anyways.

Now I just go there on my Hunter to knock some arrows.

It STILL lasts for hours. I have won this three times out of the four I’ve been in there, and the three that I won took at least two hours. And I’m okay with that. I happen to love PvP. What I’m NOT okay with is the PvP aspects of it not rewarding players like they should. Do you know how much a win rewards? 5%. THAT IS IT. 5%!!! Why??? It should at least be 20-25%!!!

It’s annoying that, to make any reasonable amount of progress for zoning in to AV, I have to abandon my team for I don’t even know how long to complete quests that don’t mean a whole lot later on in the game. We actually get somewhere when I’m down south (Alliance), with my team, healing my tushy off, and giving orders to push forward. It’s how we finally managed to win my most recent game.

This whole system is so poorly thought out, I don’t understand how it made it past inspection. Blizzard needs to fix this ASAP. Reward people for actually playing as a team.

Oh, and Korrak? Yeah, good luck for Alliance ever getting him, even with the changes. There’s one quest I will never complete.

I don’t agree at all. This participation trophy mindset really needs to just die off.

What part of I was in there for over two hours to get my win do you not understand? I EARNED my wins, buddy, and I expect to be compensated accordingly.

you know the reason why your always queuing into losing AV events is because when the game starts you get up to 15 or more people go farm rams or supplies, the remainder who are there to do the BG get pushed back in no time. and it forces an alliance turtle.

once the NPCs are dead and the rams and supplies can no longer be done, the people who queued to only do that and avoid the actual PvP leave.

its way faster to play the BG and loot armor scraps for hand ins, you can get several hundred in a good game before you even consider returning to hand in.

not to mention 5% for winning, or 2.5% for a loss.
