Don't take SS so seriously

It is a casual ranked queue with no real means of coordinating outside of pings (which people never use for some reason).
A large number of people are probably people just grinding out mounts/gear/honor levels and are there to chill.
Abusing them in instance chat, then say, then whisper, is getting you no where except making you tilted and doing nothing to improve the other player.

I had my chat window disabled in PVP but today I have had to disable the speech bubble pop-up AND turn off whisper notifications after some choice words were slung my way. Yes, they did get reported, and one of them probably got reported by everyone in that match because no one avoided his abuse other than the enemy healer.

(50%+ winrate on the three characters I’ve been PvPing on btw, I guess I just got the particularly salty players)

Are people usually more toxic towards the end of a season since they’re running on borrowed time before the next season? I haven’t had anything near as bad as what I got today. Previously its just been a healer asking me what goes on inside my head and someone getting up me because I was in the middle of the map as a healer (I learnt from that mistake at least since he told me what I did wrong instead of calling me a slur).

When people say this, I get pissed off. It’s not casual. It’s not joining the game for funsies O’clock, it’s winning time. The damn rating is up for grabs, competitive PVP o’clock.

Honestly, people with this attitude need to shorten skirmish queue time because that’s the mode you are talking about. Relax after your work in a mode that isn’t competitive PVP because it’s meant to be stressful and difficult if you can’t hack that skirmishes are where you should be.

He’s actually right Solo shuffle is a high damp arcade mode the only people taking it seriously are DPS mains who sat 45 mins to play

It may be a casual ranked queue, but as with all pvp, you still need to have thick skin. Just ignore everyone.

the short answer is the some people do not compete very well. arena is hard and unforgiving because Blizzard just hasn’t handled it well in the passed few years. it’s not Blizzard keeping this game mode alive, it’s the hardcore players, some casual, and the boosting services. Microsoft has 0 successful PvP titles so I would just take PvP as serious as you think you should. there are way better titles coming.

oh also, IMO, the only reason people keep logging in is because of the collector tabs (mount/xmog/pets etc). that was a genius innovation on their part.

No it isn’t

If you actually want competitive, intense PvP aimed at being balanced for skill expression to achieve victory, you are playing the wrong game. Very very obviously.

Anyone truly interested in that kind of experience needs to learn to play mobas, shooters, fighting games, or even a non electronic game or sport. There are a lot of places to find stressful competition that aren’t a twenty year old EverQuest clone played almost entirely by stupid dads

My wife said if I don’t hit elite by April 22nd that she’s filing the paperwork and taking the kids, and will find an Arms Warrior instead.

Bro?

These are two completely opposite mindsets. If you have everyone on ignore then you really arent having thick skin. The facts are though if you put in any input over enough games you will get banned just for writing tactics in chat.

No, you are playing with the wrong mindset, wasting people’s time and effort and costing others ratings. Frankly, you are the kind of person who would get some regular-season games in during the footy season but would ride the bench as an injury substitute when finals came (when it mattered to win). The rest of the team would hope you never play a minute of any game in the finals.

You sound like a PVE player. They also say to play a MOBA, Shooter or fighting game. I play WOW PVP, and if you step into shuffle, then we are playing for keeps, none of this casual weak feline mindset craps you seem to think this game is you’re getting a dawg when you are playing with Tucky. Hey, if you want to relax for a job, how about you find a Netflix subscription instead of playing WOW?

The dumbest thing I’ve ever heard is that I will relax by quitting Soloshuffle as a healer. I’m more likely to send myself to the psych ward or break my hand punching through a wall and not showing up to work the next day.

You should quit wow and join a mma gym where people routinely spar each other.

Much better competition in that environment

I don’t mean actually placing people on ignore. Just not responding/reacting to chat.

Guild name checks out.

I’ve trained martial arts for 20 years I used to train at volks gym, and 2 of thevmacho gyms in Wollongong and sydney. Way back I’ve sparred with yeves Edward’s and matt Hughes at ATT back in 2008 when they came down under. Trained with Eddie bravo as well. Having said all this it’s irrelevant WOW arena is PVP and it’s competitive not sure why that’s contentious on an arena forum you guys are taking the piss.
