Don't sleep on Kyrian for PvP

Not sure how this isn’t getting more attention. The heal was recently buffed to 20%, and you could either go the 50% HoT route, or get the talent that makes you immune to disease, bleed, etc for 15 seconds. I think this would go great with Cadaverous Pallor - turning magic damage into a disease that you can cleanse yourself, become immune to, or run with a priest pocket healer.

I’m rolling mag’har DK, possibly with Pallor, so that when I put the disease on myself it will be reduced by 10%. Dark Iron Dwarfs have a second cleanse to their own Pallor disease. Seems pretty legit to me…

Hoping they buff the spread chance on your 5% damage reduction dot, to the point where it just spreads to everyone wailing on you. We’ll see.

the pot currently doesn’t work in arenas

It was confirmed on Twitter today that it’s unintended and that they will be making it work in rated pvp. So Kyrian is definitely looking pretty solid imo.

So I guess the once per encounter thing means you’ll need to drop combat to get more than one use of out it as well?

Sorry if I’m missing something, but what once per encounter thing are you referring to?

yea, but if you choose kyrian it means you gotta help out that scientology cult

Almost everyone who mainly PvPs is going Necrolord for the shield since you can get one up before matches begin.

It also helps for DKs in that it gives Abom’s Limb which is much better in PvP than a moderate damage DoT with 5% damage reduction.

Better than Night Fae, though? I feel like that + Phearamones will have applications in both PvP and PvE.

As long as people are discussing the potential strengths of multiple convenants and which is better is what situation this is good. I would much rather see each covenant provide advantage in different situations that one clear cut winner.

I 100% agree with this. It should come down to play style/thematic appeal. On my hunter, I loathe the thought of being a Venthyr because I hate the aesthetic of Eurotrash vampire BS, but at the moment it’s the best choice for MM.

I really enjoy aspects of this game that make me think - make me sit down and scroll through my spell book for a bit and theorycraft, even if I look crazy at the end of it. I like coming up with odd spell interactions, or lining up something fun in my rotation.

Night Fae doesn’t do any of this for me. You drop a spell that you’ve had since Wrath, and now it’s just… better.

Kyrian will be FUN to play with, even if it’s not “the best”, and I appreciate that. Plus I think it will be fun to run around as a pillar of death with angel wings.

I agree, a straight up adjustment of a skill vs how it works is not fun, its just tuning disguised as something else. However the Night Fae movement buff is useful and could see that being utilized in certain pve scenario, or more so pvp scenarios.

Long as options are competitive, all good things. Biggest gripe is being locked into an armor look you dont like vs others. But if mechanics are working and there are options, hey man, the sun is shining lol. More so than we’ve seen in awhile at least for WOW

excited for DK’s. havnt played wow seriously since cata. classic wow and my life being stable gives me the motivation to give once a great game another try. noticing ALOT of changes in retail, but with frost dk’s getting 2h and spamming obliterate once again, i feel it’ll bring back the great feeling of tunneling someone and spamming obli + frost strike.

these cov / soulbinds look interesting. like the OP im very much leaning towards kyrie irving covenant. great point guard, but more importantly i like the shackle’s uptime and ability to spread for arena / rbg’s.

i will join the house of Kyrie, and will shall be the best covenant!
