Dont remove flying Add Stamina Restrictions

Lets say Pathfinder does go away and Blizzard adds stamina to all mounts along with action bars.

The mount can run at a steady speed of 150, fly steady at 250 with less stamina used and a sprint at 330 with more stamina used. Recovery times are mandatory. Recovery run speed is equal to 125 speed.

As you level up pathfinder you also level up your mounts for the zone that will increase the mounts stamina.

Pathfinder will never, ever, go away.
It allows them to produce less content AND time gate the content they do create.

It’s a win/win for Blizzard.

I’d rather just keep pathfinder. Nobody is going to want a mount that needs to power up to be able to fly.

Sorry

You are making a complicated and tedious system even more complicated and tedious.

Pathfinder is not going anywhere. It doesn’t matter how much people complain about it.

haven’t finished coffee, so I’m not gonna go into a lot of detail, but this doesn’t resolve any of the issues that “pathfinder” is supposed to resolve for Blizzard.

It’s not about the speed, it’s about the height. Being able to vertically climb and then move forward, at any spead, is generally an issue for them.

Yeah, the last thing i want to deal with is stamina bullcrap in World of Warcraft. This is a game for casuals, it is hello kitty collection game. Screw that noise.

My two cents are to revise the way flying works entirely.

Just like we get fatigue, add a mechanical element in which you lose “air” the longer you’re high up in the air, forcing players to keep lower to the ground - or at least vary their altitude frequently.

Another element to that I’d think pretty cool to add would be a wind factor; they’ve done it in plenty of raids before. If you are flying with the wind, you get a buff, but if you go against it you get a debuff that slows you down.

Making flying more engaging would be a great way to turn a simple convenience and escape method into an active part of the game.

You know, you only have to do it once and flying is then unlocked across all of your characters. While I do agree some of the time-gating could be loosen overall I’m fine with Pathfinder.

Here’s a crazy revamp they could do

Once you’re max level you can either buy it or get this, this is where I’ll lose most people, if you finish that zones quest you automatically get it

Crazy I know

I like the wind idea, but fatigue/stamina will always be a ‘no’ from me.

OP that’s a crap idea. Why not just leave flying alone and make a game people want to play instead?

The only reason for the massive timegates and Pathfinger is that there is literally nothing more to the game anymore. Content is redundant, recycled, fake (mission tables) and it’s all time-gated because there isn’t enough there to keep a third grader busy for more than a month.

But since you like the idea of crippling/hampering flight in some way, you will love what’s coming in 8.3. An 11x stacking debuff that slows your flying mount to RP walking speed. Lasts for 30 minutes.

I think flying should have a “Stamina” bar. You’d have 300 Stamina, and every second flying would consume 1 Stamina, so you can fly for 5 minutes. Once you are out of stamina, your mount would glide down as with a goblin glider.

Every two seconds on the ground would recover 1 stamina. So, you’d need 10 minutes to fully recover your stamina.

Beyond that, I think flying need to be planned into the game. A certain altitude is always safe, but some areas could have flying hazzards. For instance, enemy bases could be patrolled by flying units, or could shoot you down if you fly too low, or could prevent flying once you are on the ground.

I mean, I wouldn’t mind it at all. Blizzard clearly wants there to be some form of progression before flying is enabled in full swing. Something like what OP is suggesting–or what I suggest, simply making the sky extremely dangerous on launch–is quite a lot more interesting than “your mount arbitrarily forgot how to fly for a few months.”

They won’t get rid of pathfinder though.

Also, speak for yourself rather than others. It’s silly to do otherwise.

I think flying is fine the way it is.

But paying customers will.

Or, since they have fervently stated before on numerous times that Pathfinder isn’t going away, instead of this stupid stamina idea, just keep Pathfinder as it is EXCEPT have it unlocked once the achievement is reached.

There was no reason to have stupid Part Two be required to unlock Part One.

Part One: Zandalar and Kul Titans flying.

Part Two: Naz and Mechagon flying.

And let’s be real. I personally like the IDEA of Pathfinder because it unlocks flying for any and all future characters you create across your account without a gold sink. But Pathfinder is not about the devs wanting you to experience their hard work and content as intended. It is all about stringing out the subs. You are fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

Experiencing the content as intended is completed in FULL during your very first run through. I don’t need nor want to experience all their “hard work” over and over again on alts.

Then you are in the minority

People have been threatening that since WoD and it carries zero weight at this point. Because last time I checked the past 2 years has been the most successful years for WoW in ages due to BFA and Classic.

There is a reason why the most common respond to people threatening to leave aside from “Can i have your stuff?” is “See you next week!” Or “See you next patch!”.

People don’t actually quit WoW in large enough numbers to matter. They stamp their feet, threaten, and then come back after some time away.
