Don't remember this quiver

So in the beta stress test when my hunter pulls out her bow a quiver appears on her back, was it always like this in vanilla? I don’t ever remember seeing a quiver on my back until Legion with the MM artifact, and as far as I know that’s still the only way to do it.

I Mained a Hunter all through classic I remember having a quiver several different colors even. Keep in mind that it’s only shown for bow and xbow you may have used a gun more than those two

Oh I went to great pains to avoid guns whenever possible, even at the expense of DPS cause I prefered the aesthetics of bows, lol. Maybe it’s just been too long, why did they remove that from live though!?

There’s some actually but only with certain bows. Example hunters legion wepon for mm. My guess is when they took the actual quivers out and made them bags they decided to put effort into the actual wepon rather than a back piece that gets hidden by cloak/hair , also updating them with more polygons etc more work

Oh I know that one, that’s why MM is the only spec I’ll play on live. I didn’t know there were still others though, I might need to hop on that character and see if i can find any in my transmog collection.

because they removed ammo in general and it wouldnt make sense to have a quiver on your back with no arrows, as you shoot arrows out of thin air. its like my favorite pc game, the sims 2. nothing in their hands but when you direct two sims to pillow fight, the directed one pulls a pillow out of their butt. just poof.

The quiver on the character’s back is linked to the weapon, not the quiver that takes a bag slot. I tested it by first moving my arrows and quiver into my backpack and seeing the quiver still there, then unequipping the bow and seeing the quiver finally disappear.

i didnt say it made sense lol but that was their reasoning. they thought it was better to have an arrow appear in your hand from nowhere, than to keep a quiver on your back that never uses arrows anymore. >convenience.

Just tried a few of my oldest mog appearances and no quiver, seems the MM artifact is the only way on live

Awe really I thought there were still some old ones left… Is been a while since I’ve been on my hunter and even then I went melee survival in legion…I sorry mate

Yup Classic WoW had quivers because ranged weapons didn’t appear on your back, you only saw your melee weapons when your ranged weapon was put away.

It wasn’t until Cataclysm when they made ranged weapons appear on your back because they removed melee weapons from Hunters, but they also had to remove quivers to avoid clipping issues.

We only saw the quiver in Legion because it was part of the weapon.
