Don't Quit

If you find yourself annoyed more than anything then just take a break but don’t quit.

Something weird is going on, it’s temporary but I only say that because everything is temporary and it’ll pass.

Eventually.

So don’t quit. Just take a break. And til your sub runs out, we can all pvp on these forums.

That’ll be fun. Trust me.

After 20 years wife and i are fairly casual. Even if many things are messed up, we still like to log on and hang out.

Collect pets and mogs or work a little on housing.

We aren’t to the quitting point just yet

This is a patch where Ion thought to himself: Lets do a massive stat squish, completely rewrite the popular transmog system to make it more complex and costly while stripping away everyone’s existing transmog and making them pay to get it back, and while we’re at it, completely eviscerate class rotations to make them simple enough for an 8 year old - surely players will love that.

He can’t be surprised by the backlash. I’m sure a boardroom meeting looked at it and though “yes, this will bring in a new crop of young players!”. Madness.

The dust will settle, many will return, but a lot of folks won’t. This was an epic level failure on the part of Blizz management IMO. Glad I decided early on not to take this xpac seriously, because I don’t think Blizz is taking it seriously either.

Why do you want people to pay money for what they’re not playing?

They don’t have to pay money. They can pause their subs or even just stop paying while they go on a break.

If I unsub it will be over lack of playability, rather than transmog, which they have convinced me to give up. And right now the game looks borderline unplayable. I am not enjoying having to tell the rest of my team to wait while I reload to try to bring back my macros to life. And if my screen decides to go black and do a full redraw while I am tanking a dungeon, I can’t even tell people what is happening.

People should remember that awkward period after legion where we lost our artifact weapons and borrowed power and the same complaints were happening. Once we get into the new expansion it’s hard to say what might happen

Sounds like “no reason not to unsub and check back in a few months to see if they got it working again”.

Wut? There is literally a beta with that information lol. If you think classes are suddenly going to get better, you might want to go browse those boards.

God forbid customers have issues with a product they pay a monthly sub for being broken in ways it wasn’t a week ago, or having to pay more money on top of what they already spent for transmog. Clearly thats just entitlement.

Just be fine your class hits like cotton candy now, in 4 months after you get midnights raid tier set it’ll totally start working. Just be fine paying for transmog you already paid for, it’ll totally be worth it. Just be fine with crappy game performance due to unoptimized updates, it’ll eventually get fixed.

We’re missing a bunch of talents.

I already like the classes

I wouldn’t worry too much. The forums are like Twitter, a small portion of the player base.

Well unless they randomly drop an entirely new user interface overhaul it won’t address the elephant in the room. Balance is one thing, but the very foundation on which the game is played has been turned from a finely tuned interface system with care, nuance and player customization in mind to baby’s first nameplate.

The passives that have basically zero impact on rotations?

Yes, I’m sure you enjoy the 4-5 button classes, I’m not really surprised there lol.

I can’t stop laughing at this. I played classic, original classic. And while there I talked to a great many players. After the retail tourists left, most of the players I talked and asked specifically why they quit knew exactly why. The things that pissed them off were still fresh in their minds a decade later.

A lot of the ones who did come back to retail said they left again over pathfinder. The ones who came back and played were gone for multiple expansions.

People do leave and never come back. They find some other game. People who leave the game because they are upset at something Blizzard did to it are gone for years.

This message we keep getting hammered into us that “nobody has ever left the game, they won’t unsub, they’ll resub tomorrow/next week/next patch, they’ll prepurchase a long term sub and buy mounts…”

People who unsub for years over an unforced mistake that feels like a slap in the face are a giant income loss to Blizzard. Period.

There are no excuses or rationales to cover what has happened.

So since you have no data, in fact the percentage of outraged players could be much, much higher.
