Dont Nerf M+ loot. Buff ALL loot

It has been almost two decades Blizzard. I was sincerely hoping Ion had learned this SUPER basic game design philosophy but apparently not.

M+ loot does not need to be nerfed. Loot from M+, raid, and PvP should be buffed. In the form that it supports the content it comes from. What I mean by this is applying the tier set methodology to gear from those gameplay areas.

Let me get a tier set for M+ that buffs how much of a benefit I get from the season affix, damage increase only while in m+, ability changes that impact m+ gameplay only.

Do the same for raid tier sets. Have it only work in raid. And have the bonus specifically be designed around raid encounters for the current raid. At the end of an expansion have a fated raid tier set that has bonuses that interact with the fated affixes.

And finally do the same for PvP. Tier sets with PvP focused benefits. Increased dmg to cc’d targets. Knockback increases, etc, etc.

Heck they could even do a mini-tier set for open world players. They even had some gear like this in shadowlands but it was nearly impossible/pointless to collect. (not talking about covenant sets, there is sets specifically for world content right now).

Anyway. I hope Ion can RECALL THE LESSON THE WOW TEAM HAS RELEARNED 20 THOUSAND TIMES at this point and buff/improve things that are working well instead of nerfing them to be crud so everything is crud.

M+ loot needs to be buffed if anything. The fact that it can take over 100 runs to target single pieces of loot is making people quit.

Also, I still don’t understand why we’re latching on to this idea that raid needs to be the best. There is less people pushing CE than there are people clearing 20+ keys. Because it’s not good content.

Having watched the interview and read the summary of it on Wowhead … I don’t think Ion said that M+ gear needs to be nerfed, I think he said that it needs to be buffed to be its own thing
Let me explain:

The fact of the matter is that there will always be checkpoints where gear is the same, including PvP and PvE gear - and that’s not changing at all
But what Ion says is that folks who do stuff like +20s but doesn’t do mythic raiding - they should have gear that is specific to that type of content, we see it already in the Vault where we get gear that is ilvl the same as mythic raiding in a lot of slots but not all of 'em and this is what I think Ion was talking about

People who run high on min-maxxing, which a lot of people who do Mythic raiding, “do degenerative things” in between the releases of the different raid tiers (to quote the interview) - and its this difference that makes it difficult
The gear question is in relation to raiding and PvP, where M+ needs to have its own form of gear that’s specific to it

PvP has “If in Warmode/BGs/Arenas, increase to”, Mythic raiding has higher ilvls available than anywhere else as a flat amount, and Mythic+ has nothing of these two, yet it has another form of higher difficulty content in those who do run these obscenely high keys, and Ion seems to indicate that those people should be able to get something that is specific to 'em

It doesn’t sound like Ion wants to nerf M+ gear, it sounds like he wants to provide a “+2400 Rating/Mythic Raiding/+20 keys”-style of gear that’s available to people who run +20 keys or the like

No thanks. I’d rather not have RMX be S++++++ tier. They’re already S+++++

I actually agree with you. Loot from certain content should offer benefits to that content. There is no reason for raiders to continue being PO’d because they are forced to do dungeons and likewise the opposite if you are farming a wep or trink from raid. Some people enjoy raiding, some only like mythic plus because the time commitment to raiding isn’t possible. Why denigrate one group for enjoying the content they like and have time for.

It doesn’t, but nor should M+ be so far-and-away the best gearing method in the game that even people who do CE raiding are getting most of their gear from m+ for most of every season. Which is how it is, now.

That doesnt mean its not good content. The loot is too plentiful in m+. That doesn’t make m+ good content
