Dont meet requirement blackrock depth 20th

Hahaha. To be fair, yes, I do remember that occasionally being the case. But I certainly don’t recall it being the norm.

Must be level 80 and need a minimum 580 ilvl. It’s an anniversary raid, so it makes sense it would reward current level gear (which it does) so level cap is a must.

They were 10-man raids. If you have to convert your group to raid, you’re in a raid. Like Stormwind is not a raid but if 40 people group together to kill the leader then that is a raid.

incorrect, stormwind is a zone/city. it isnt a raid. you people dont understand transitive properties at all.

Calling many of the vanilla end game dungeons “tuned for 5 man” is a bit of a stretch. They were intended for 5 mans but they were not exactly “tuned” for it. (Im mainly thinking OG LRBS/UBRS, Dire)

This was my experience. This character hit level 60 in December 2004 and I remember every group running 15 people in UBRS, 10 people in Stratholm, 10 people in Scholomance, etc. Everyone sucked; macro’s only existed to spam chat and tag mobs, their talent builds were random stuff that they thought was cool (e.g. I was healing groups in feral spec because groups needed heals and most didn’t even know I wasn’t resto).

Tell that to the lvl 35 mage who was doing 7m dps in my lfr run last night scaling is crazy

You can go into the Lfr version starting at level 30 scaling is crazy

If you are queueing LFR you should be able to do it sub 80, but not normal/heroic. I’m guessing that is your issue getting in.

Even once your 80 people will probably expect at least normal raiding Ilvl to get in. But I don’t raid outside lfr so idk what the average Ilvl requirements are.

If I make a 40 man raid to kill hogger, does that make it raid content?

People absolutely ran with ten, because they could, and because it made those places substantially easier. But it’s a wild stretch to claim they were raid content.

None of the bosses have tank swaps, and there’s not enough damage output to justify more than 1 healer. None of those places have DPS checks from what I remember, so more than 5 is just making it easier to zerg.

We tried heroic with a mostly 620+ group, with mostly casual raiders that are up to working on heroic queen and got absolutely dumpstered by the first boss.

Normal was a slog, but doable. But I’m not sure if should have been a slog when it drops gear 10-20 ilvl below what we already had. I’ll be surprised if groups let anyone in with less than 605-610 ilvl.

Yep because you are in a raid group.

Most definitely. You even specified a Hogger Raid. The minute any group over 5 is formed, it is Raid content. No different than the 3 party crashers or the 8 world rares. Raids are not just something you queue for or walk into. They are named so for their “Raiding Party” which in WoW implies any group of 10-40 people formed for a larger purpose, or even the solo player who runs into old raids since their party is converted to Raid. <3 The parameters of this game are not so black n white. There’s up to 40 shades of grey.

You guys can’t possibly be this desperate to feel like you got a win on a video game forum.

Man, I was expecting a different thread when I read the title snippet!

End game raids, in every expansion, requires max level to join queue.

Nerubar requires lvl 80 and 567 ilvl to queue. I would assume the new raid requires the same.

Raids are designed and built around max level players with decent gear. If you are 2 levels away you wouldn’t do anything to raid bosses, your damage would be 10k-15k dps when a 570 ilvl lvl 80 DPS should be able to do 200-300k DPS.

Expecting to raid before max level is like walking into a bar at age 14, you aren’t getting that alcoholic drink. You don’t meet the minimum requirements.

This is NOT new and max level has always been required to queue for raids since the LFG system was implemented.

I just saw that it has all this traction and the question I asked was answered with the first response. What the hell is going on lol?

I just ran into this problem earlier and didn’t know what to make of it. Thank you for the explanation forum folks!
