Don't make new players level BFA 10-50

The new starter zones sound amazing. Brilliant idea.

But why make new players do only BFA from 10-50? That sounds like a painful leveling experience.

I’m trying to get my wife to start in Shadowlands. The starter area will help her a ton. But she will for sure get bored and never want to play again if she is stuck in BFA from 10-50.

Why Blizz? Why?

She has the option to level 10-50 in any expansion she chooses

Not if it’s a brand new account she doesn’t. All brand new accounts will have to level 10-50 in BFA.

If she is a new player, she will have to do 10 to 50 in BFA.

I feel you OP. I will not roll any future characters through BFA, ever.

Really?! Yea pretty dumb

I have to agree, BFA should not be forced, tbh it should be banned from being picked for first time players. Classic / Cataclysm / Mist should be one of the first three options for first time players in my honest opinion.

it does seem kind of cruel. it’s like blizz is trying to run them off even before they really get started.

I fully disagree with you. BFA is the absolute best choice to make new players do.

BFA is the most modernized questing experience, and sets new players up to not get confused chronologically.

Also, new players wont have the same expectations of the characters in BFA that we do. They’re not gonna look at Sylvanas and cry about how ruined she is. BFA has a very good leveling experience and story.

fixed it for ya, you can thank me later.

My guess is there doing it because of Sylvanas being the big main star of Shadowlands.

the leveling wasn’t so bad in BFA, though I don’t know why they’re forcing people to do it. having to do the new starting zone should be enough.

I mean wrath was the expansion i started in, but going straight to northrend with no context will ruin the special flavor unless they played through WC3 Reign of chaos and frozen throne already.

BFAs leveling content is fine. You’re letting your personal distaste of the rest of the expansion draw a bias.

Stop thinking like a veteran, start thinking like a person whose never played WoW before. What are you going to enjoy more, low resolution boar quest in Durotar, or a cinematic experience in Zandalar.

I don’t see why new players should dislike BfA questing. Experienced players, yes, but that’s exactly why experienced players have the option to do any expansion they choose.

I thought BFA leveling content was considered a good thing?

Imo all the zones are pretty great and fun and not weighed down by the gearing systems which was the hated thing.

Imagine choosing Outland as your first zone because you like the look. Hope you enjoying the horribly inconvienet questing.

BFA has colorful zones with decent story, quests that flow together instead of fly to this outpost go to shattrath than return.

will new players be flying at lvl 25 in BfA?

New players likely wont care or know about flying.

Again, think like a new player, not a veteran.

Have to agree; it is the most modern expansion, thus reflective of the current state of WoW both gameplay and loewise, and as a leveling experience it isn’t bad like at all. All the BfA zones are good.

BfA would be an introduction to the newer systems that are in place.

I’m of the opinion that BFA and Legion should have been options, but I understand why they’ve done it.
