As I sit here pondering my 15 years playing Warcraft on multiple accounts, dozens of characters, hundreds of dollars, and hundreds of hours…
I have to ask… How should I feel when a company invites a person like “Towelliee” to beta who, spoke negatively about Classic WoW from day 1, derided people who liked it, mocked the game, etc…but since it is advantageous for him monetarily he is now all about it.
Just as bad… He and others sat there for days screwing with the entire Classic community with their secrets.
I honestly am beginning to feel a bit turned off by this whole thing and am beginning to ask myself the question…should I even support this behavior? I dunno… I am just really not feeling this.
I paid $50 bux for the demo and don’t get classic but a guy who hates the game does so he can make money. What the hell? Whatever…yea it is whining in a way…but man…I can’t be the only one feeling like this…
The whole situation just feels dirty and strange.

It definitely feels scummy, but it’s business I guess.

It’s free advertisting, you are kidding yourself if you think Blizzard didn’t crawl on their knees to these streamers with fistfuls of beta invites.

Streamers are the most selfish people on the planet and Blizzard is ______

Do we have a confirmation on that?
Source? Link? Proof? Still doesn’t fix this behavior though, does it?
Well no, multiple streamers are saying that. For example im watching Tipsout and his buddies whisper him saying there finally in.
I’m hoping I can get in because i’d love to start addon dev instead of wasting time on the actual release doing it. Don’t have high hopes though.
Please read the forums. Non streamers are also getting invites. It’s not just streamers.

You can’t stress test the game with just streamers. There’s like at most a hundred or so streamers large enough to matter. Stress tests require multiple thousands of players.
There will absolutely be more non-streamers than streamers by a large margin. It simply doesn’t functionally work any other way.
Stress test lasts literally a few hours on 3 different days. Much different than unhinged access to the whole world for weeks and months…
I mean daily waves as opposed to mass invites for actually stressing the servers.
Suspect that the marketing team has more sway over things of this nature than do the actual developers of the game…
How sad is that?

Historically, once you have access to beta you have access to beta. It’s not just access to phases. There’s no reason to believe that stress testers will be kicked off after the fact.

Is everyone guaranteed to the stress tests? or will they pick people as well?
They are a business and they will do everything to help their bottom line, even if it means to suck up to dipzhits like him.
