Dont hate on people who struggle with spelling

I really struggle with some words and just try my best to spell them correctly.

I get people all the time calling me a retard or stupid for miss-spelling somthing and it really pisses me off.

I legit struggle with this, i was held back in grade school due to it. I just dont understand why people have to be so mean over A SPELLING ERROR.

Is this occurring on the forums or Ingame?

Because in the forums there’s always autocorrect.

As a bad speller myself, I’m always very tolerant. But when it comes to queue spelt Q-U-E?

I will fight someone.

I mean if you’re never corrected then you’ll never improve?

Understanding the language you’re speaking is an important goal to strive for.

Being corrected is a good thing. Being insulted is not.

I have a pretty good grasp at speaking the language. Spelling is whole other ball game. I think a lot of my problem when it comes to spelling is I don’t hear the word correctly. The other is the rules were never constant, so inconstant at a very young age I decided to hell with this. Looking back I should have tried harder and trying to make up for it now.

edit: On spelling I never really had to so it was not so bad really. The last bunch of years I’ve had to write so I’m playing catch up now.

As a kid I never had an issue with spelling and made it to the regional spelling bee numerous times (and would always get some ridiculous a$$ word while the next guy gets something easy like machismo)

As an adult I get that ‘this word looks weird’ feeling regularly, as if it were in a different language and the symbols look weird. Im not sure what happened

If it wasn’t for spell check I’d make even more mistakes.
For the people who have to point out spelling, grammar errors about others…they’ve just got nothing else to say, I guess.

I haven’t noticed any grammar/spelling Naz1s in forever. I am notorious for forgetting to proofread before hitting post and often times edit after someone has responded and kindly ignored my blatant typos.

Asking 100% of people not to hate on something is a silly request.

There will always be haters. It’s our job as individuals to better our resistance to haters.

My personal advice is practice reading and writing. It’s helped me with grammar and spelling mistakes quite well.

I try to give people a memorable way of spelling something.

queueue uwuwu :3

That’s how I remember it anyway. I’d just tell them the word was made by a furry who was trying to be cute so there two ue’s.

I rarely jump on someone for spelling errors… unless they’re saying something like “your a idiot!” then it’s on.

I dont mind people correcting me! I enjoy learning how to spell a word for the 500050th time, its just people who get like mad at me and say bad things ya know.

I don’t hate on those who struggle, but it does bother me when I see stuff like “que” for queue, or the usual “their/there” instead of “they’re”.

People who resort to correcting grammar and spelling are usually one of two types.

  • OCD about it, so they cant help themselves. Usually non confrontational about it.
  • those with no real argument who are trying to deflect from that fact and like those with low self esteem, use anything they can to build themselves up emotionally, usually by insulting others for petty crap like spelling errors.

I think it is ironic when people go grammar nahtzi (yes I know it is spelled wrong on purpose) when we live in a society where communication via electronic devices it condensed down to LOL WTF G2G TTYL and various other acronyms instead of actual words.

I type actual words when I text people. Well, I should say I use the voice function on my phone and it types out actual words :stuck_out_tongue:
