Uh… no… I did not at all come here because of “No flight in WoD”. I’m here as the constant changes that started with things like RDF lead to the monster that is Retail. Not sure how you linked me leaving over that when I could care less about flight to me being here though.
They’re going to argue that it’s a different game, that the sub losses in retail don’t matter, but many of those who left retail (myself included) was because of modern systems like LFG, Blizzard’s awful design, and Blizzard’s arrogance and ego. Wrath didn’t make me leave. Cata made me leave after they caved and nerfed all the dungeons, and Dragon Soul was trash. WoD made me leave because it was, well… WoD. Same with Legion with launch legendaries and artifacts. Same with BFA, and SL.
I wonder what Classic’s population is at, and where it’ll be when a system designed for new players and alts - especially in the old world - isn’t there for end-phase play. I guess raid-logging is compelling gameplay.
It’s called Wrath Reforged TM.
Then play wrath, bud.
Nope. Those sub losses showed that unlike yourself, they meant business. No thinly veiled threats. They posted for months, and when it didn’t work they voted with their wallet and proved they were the majority and Blizzard added it. So what is your excuse?
I’m glad we came full circle. Ty for the input.
Well then why are you here? RDF did not lead to retail. All that crap started in Cata and onwards. Remember that expansion that had garrisons? Your own little instanced daily hub? Probably a good place to start.
Right, instead of the product no longer being for those who want Classic/TBC, Blizzard is changing it so the product isn’t for those that want Wrath. Weird design choice, but okay.
Nor is it for me, or many others who want RDF. Hence why I’ve been here since day 1 of Classic. I wanted authenticity then, I want authenticity now. I care about knowing what I’m going into, rather than the unknown - I simply don’t trust Blizzard and want to know everything ahead of time.
Because… why should I?
What is awful for you is actually fun for others. When it comes to something like this, a company will make a decision that either makes one side happy and the other mad, or the other way around. They had to make a choice, and they chose this path… with their product.
you little misinformed tweaker lol, i AM one of those that left, i came back for WOTLK. because to me, original Lich King was the greatest expansion. WITH RDF as part of it. and if they dont impress me in the next 3 months, since i prepaid for it. im gone again. if this turns out to be a mutant of what i wanted to play i wont stick around. that simple. i dont whine and complain and then settle, i state my debate, fight to get what i want, if i dont i go to where i can get it. that may be hard for you to understand but it is what it is. i wont stay in the game if its not what i want. simple.
Doesn’t mean its the right choice. We all know Blizzard has made more wrong choices than right ones. There’s been complete, 2 year expansions that were pretty much globally hated, and Blizzard still stuck to it. They haven’t changed. They’re still on the trend of making bad decisions and blaming on it something else, as they’ve done with RDF. Sorry you jumped on the underdog bandwagon, but you’re wrong, and so its Blizzard.
RDF isn’t make or break for me. I want it, I’d enjoy it, but I’ll still play without it. But how many is that true for? I know a number of people that unsubbed and haven’t looked back since the announcement - thankfully none in my guild/raid team, as that would be even more of a negative impact, but people I know and have played with.
Again, all that we can wait for is the result. Blizzard isn’t going to change anything. If they aren’t already planning to add it back in the final phase, “we listened and understand the playerbase wants this” for some good PR (even though it’ll be negative overall), they may begrudgingly add it by then as you see the subs die off again. This happened in Classic, it happened even faster in TBCC.
Keep in mind Wrath hasn’t even launched, and any sub drops Blizzard will assume is end-expansion loss.
Blizzard isn’t changing Wrath. You can still do all the story lines, all the raids, obtain all the same gear, all the classes, all the talents. Changing a bit of health on a mob doesn’t change the core mechanics. You suddenly don’t need to change up for 15 new mechanics and the like. Wrath at it’s core wasn’t defined by mob health or RDF. It is indeed as Wrath was.
It’s their legal right to call this ‘their product’, but none of these people had anything to do with creating the biggest mmo ever. Those devs are long gone. All these clowns know how to do is live off the work of the people who came before. And now tarnish their creation.
I wish the original wrath devs would have left some digital ‘‘keys’’ in the game, easter eggs and stuff, that only once found would unlock the ability to alter it’s original code.
have you managed to live through 20 years active duty service, whilst also raising and homeschooling 3 children, and stayed married to the same person for over 40 years? while also being on the dean’s list and president’s list in college? delayed gratification…you’re funny.
It doesn’t matter to me one way or another. I win either way. I just get sick of seeing all this “We the RDF crowd are the majority and we have spoken!” BS. I tank, something the vast majority of these complainers will not do. They are their own problem. I tank with RDF, I get instant dungeons. We play without it? I say I as a tank are making a group and the server is spamming me with messages and I make a group.
Removing a core system is changing it. Buffing bosses, changing heroics, is changing Wrath.
Wait, why do some systems matter whereas others don’t?
The core mechanics remain the same on retail.
To you, maybe. If I ask someone else they may say RDF was a huge part of it.
yeah, was on a server that went from med to to low pop when rdf was announced removed. not sure its the reason for all of em, but willing to bet it was at least part of the reason for alot of em. i know 2 of my people left when it was announced. they were looking forward to not having to waste time in LFG anymore.
Still no RDF bro. Youll still have fun anyway. I believe in you.
